Pool Poop Galore

So I was at the pool going swimming, doing my laps.

It was very busy there with lots of people of all ages.

All of a sudden, I hear some screaming.

Then the guards come over and tell people they have to get out of the pool, pronto!

There’s been an accident.

No, not someone getting hurt.

Someone had a bathroom accident in the pool.

The director of the pool is going around explaining to the inconvenienced swimmers that:

“Someone pooped in the pool.”

Not exactly an eloquent way to say it, but it gets the point across.

What is worse, it was on the side of the pool where the adults were swimming!

Next come the lifeguards with the nets and they are literally scooping swathes of this sh*t out of the pool.

I see it literally spans almost a half length of this olympic pool.

What a crappin’ mess.

Luckily I got almost all my swim in–yes, I am dedicated!

And then took a long hot shower with tons and tons of soap. 😉

We All Have Our Moods

Thought this was a funny comic strip in the office.

Today I’m feeling {choose your poison}…

While I’m sure that we’d like to be happy all the time, it’s not realistic to think that will actually be probable or even possible.

Sure, everyone puts on the big smile.

But behind the smile is often many other feelings

As one colleague said to me:

“People are complex!”

Isn’t that true?

Anyway, don’t beat yourself for feeling what you feel–it’s okay to be relaxing, excited, angry, sad, stressed or whatever.

Of course, that doesn’t excuse letting it get the best of you and bad behavior.

We’re adults, not children with temper tantrums.

Certainly, though, we are all human, and all feelings are fine. 😉

Everyone Drinks

Everyone Drinks

So this is a water fountain on steroids.

Not 1, not 2, but 3 drinking spouts.

Adults, children, and even pets can all get theirs.

And at the same time…no one goes thirsty!

So simple, yet why make people wait and take turns.

Drink everyone, drink to efficiency. 😉

To Little Jonah

Butterfly

So swimming in the pool, I meet little 7-year old Jonah.

He sort of made himself known to me when he decided he wanted to race me on the swim board.

I was going just a little faster–and I reminded him that I had a key competitive advantage, fins.

He said, “Darn I should have brought mine!’

He asked how old I was, and I said a little older than you.

Not satisfied, he pressed the question, saying “I can tell you are an adult.”

So I had to cave and admit that, and pointing to my heart, added that “I am young at heart.”

Jonah’s in 1st grade, and wanted to know what grade I was in.

His guess was 4th grade, and I said “That’s about right.”

Jonah is from New Orleans visiting his grandmother for Passover.

She was watching him in the pool and smiling with grandmotherly nachos, ear-to-ear.

I told Jonah to make sure to treat his grandmother nicely.

But Jonah at this point had jumped into my swim lane and was in mock superhero fighting mode, and said “I want to punch you.”

I thought to myself, hmm it’s not only my wife that feels that way (LOL).

Anyway, it was clear that I had made a new friend with Jonah, who was off bobbing up and down in the water well over his head.

Bye Jonah–have a good time visiting for Passover.

Settle Things Like Adults

Adults

This was a funny picture on the Metro in Washington, D.C.

On their commute, one lady is reading her newspaper and one gentlemen is listening to his iPod.

On the man’s shirt, it says something like:

Let’s settle this like adults: Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Adults are in so many senses just like big children.

We get into disagreements, arguments, and fights, and then don’t know how to get out of them and resolve things.

Hence, the old “Rock-Paper-Scissors.”

– Rock beats scissors.

– Paper beats rock.

– Scissors beats paper.

Everything can beat something.

And everybody is right from their own perspective on things.

Decision is by the luck of the draw between two people–throwing off hands gestures.

Probably just as good (if not better) than how most decisions get made and disputes get resolved in everyday real life. 😉
