Does Color Make The Man?

Thought these were some mighty bold and colorful Men’s shoes.

I personally like color and making a little bit of a a statement.

In a sense, color makes the man happy, exciting, alive, and uplifting.

With these shoes, I suppose if your going dancing or a splendid night out on the town these may work.

So there is a time and place for everything.

Day-to-day, these shoes are a little out there, and more than a little scary, and too much for my sense of tasteful design.  😉

That Look On Their Face

So I love that look on people’s face when I say something that just startles them or takes them back a little.

The other day when I got a haircut, the barber lady was talking to me (BTW, she’s a very nice person).

At one point, she says something about my hair being a little different on each side.

So I blurt out something like:

“Well, that’s because my brains are pushing it out!”

I got the funniest look from her…yes, it was priceless.

First, she’s like right, of course, your brains are pushing out your hair!

Then, she looks at me, and I start smirking, and she gives me the big eyes and raised eyebrows, like a combination of that’s funny and now don’t be such a wise guy.

Then, we both started laughing.

I love that.

I love doing that with people.

Being alive.

Getting a reaction.

Making them wonder for a second.

Getting them to smile and laugh.

Maybe my brains are pushing my hair out!  😉

Turkey Head

Turkey Head
The new insane fashion statement on Thanksgiving…wearing a turkey on your freakin’ head.

This guy is at the beach and stopped for the photo–towel in hand, turkey on head.

But lest you think this is just for the beach crowd…

A obviously wealthy older couple are having their breakfast at no less than the Ritz Carlton.

And yes, they are sitting sipping their lattes and eating their danish WITH turkeys straddling their heads–both of them, facing off at each other!

What won’t people do for some attention–to simply get others to look at them.

Perhaps to feel alive, relevant, or important in some way.

Sure, there is fun in it too, but also some very mashugana stuff going on out there.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving from chilly, but sunny Fort Lauderdale. 😉

Swim ~ Splash ~ Swim

Swim ~ Splash ~ Swim

At the pool this morning, the fresh clean water was pouring in.

Swimming in the hot sun, I headed straight for the cool splash.

The water was frothing white against the blue background.

As it hit the pool, it created this amazing bubbling beneath the surface.

I swam under it a number of times and came up through the bubbling fresh water.

Sort of felt like I was swimming in a waterfall in the Amazon or something exotic like that.

Hey, I can imagine…but it really was amazing with the water, the sun, the air–felt so alive!

I am thankful to G-d for allowing me this wonderful moment today to feel his beauty in the world.

People Of All Colors

People Of All Colors

Not sure why I like this, but I do.

What comes to mind, is “the crazier, the better!”

And this is pretty nuts:

– The people have no clothes (but in a modest type of way).

– The men are covering their privates (with handbags), but why not the women?

– They people are sort of gray, yet have different colored ink blots over their feet, hands, eyes, mouth, and hair–almost like they are stymied or perhaps, the opposite, free to be whatever they want.

– They are similar, but yet all different, like us.

– Why these different colors–we don’t know; it is muted, but it is ALIVE.

It’s crazy and it’s people–you never know who or what exactly you are dealing with–but we are all G-d’s creations. 😉

Cool Pants

Cool_pants

Outside of Hollywood and the entertainment industry, these are the coolest pants I have ever seen.

Honestly, I’ve never quite seen any pants like these.

Probably the picture from a smartphone doesn’t due these pants justice–and hey, don’t forget my bad photography skills. 😉

But first impression–the 70’s look is coming back in 2012.

And while I am certainly no fashion guru, these pants were noticeably overflowing, had a wild circular pattern, a variety of colors and textures, and some heavy duty bell-bottoms.

Most of all, what I think really struck me was how bold these pants were in what’s traditionally a pretty conservative city, here in D.C.

While I don’t know this lady in the cool pants, I admired her ability to live loudly and capture the moment, unafraid of being who she is or wants to be.
