Beautiful Teapot (Just For Looking)

Just wanted to share this really beautiful yellow and flowered teapot.

Love all the shapes–the pyramid base, the curly spout, the circular handle, and the little round ball at the top.

Like most nice things, it’s too beautiful to actually use.

(Almost like a million outfits in my closet that I never wear, because I don’t want to mess them up…)

This is where design trumps functions–and I would rather look at this and enjoy it as art more than drinking another cup of tea! 😉

Emperor Has No Clothes

No Clothes.jpeg

What happens when the emperor has no clothes?

That’s when we get fake news and alternative facts.

These days we don’t know what to believe anymore because institutions and media have lost so much credibility with bias, prejudice, and trying to influence based on overtly selfish motives.

The gloves have come off in the fight for supreme earthly might.

Apparently, a lot of other clothes have come off too.

Now the influencers stand naked before us and we must judge for ourselves the truth of the matter.

It funny-sad that in their utter nakedness, they bear no shame.

They scream, and hissy fit, protest, rage, demean, threaten and commit violence.

Ear lobes are dangling as are the other parts and still there is no listening, negotiating, or compromise.

Advancement is limited to obstruction, and progress is dead like a heap of dung.

The nation suffers the marks in the flesh of bitter fighting, while our competitive advantages are eroded.

United we used to stand, and divided for a decade we are falling.

We can dive into the pile of clothes and swim among them, but still we are sinking naked and stinking the lot like selfish bastards, indeed. 😉

Her Hair Was A Hoot

Orange Hair.jpeg

No offense intended, but not going to miss this lady in a crowd.

Orange-hot pink hair, a zebra shirt, big black-rimmed glasses, and a wild bag with dozens of pins all over it.

It was also funny that the sign over her head says, “Orange” to match this lady’s hair.

My childhood friends would probably call this a “Hair Don’t” like a hairdo, only don’t do it!

Sometimes, you have to wonder what people are thinking.

It’s nice to get attention, if it’s attention worth getting. 😉

Fashionistas Oh Mista

Armani
I found this gorgeous picture on Facebook.

I believe this model on the runway is wearing Armani.

The green dress is overflowing with beautiful ruffles, accented only by a black belt.

As the model walks down the black and white runway, the whole outfit just seems to pop with soft texture and sheer eloquence.

I showed it to my daughter and she was hesitant about it, thinking that the green color made her look like a tree and surrounding foliage.

I can see her point–maybe a nice sky blue or candy pink would be better…I think all three on stage would be amazing! 😉

Cool Cat

Cat
So yesterday I was coming home from the fitness center/pool.

I was wearing shorts and pool shoes even though it was only in the 30’s-40’s temperature out.

This large man with a Texas accent stops me to ask how I can dress like that around Winter time.

And it’s particularly funny, because there is another man overhearing this conversation next to us wrapped up in no less than 2 coats/layers.

So I say in a lighthearted way “I guess that I just have warm blood, so the temperature doesn’t really bother me.”

He says, “Uh, in Florida, when it goes into the 60’s, people start shivering and bundling up down there.”

I smile, and say “Well maybe we’re just different people.”

Then he goes, “I like that–I like people that think different! You know why, [and he pauses and repeats again] you know why?”

I look at him sort of eyes wide open at this point waiting to hear his explanation to the build up.

And he says, “Because it means they don’t give a sh*t what other people think!”

At that point we both started nodding and laughing.

Maybe you had to be there, but I think you can probably envision this sort of nutty scene.  😉

I Quit, And Here’s My Clothes

I Quit, And Here's My Clothes

This was a funny picture on the Metro in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

Apparently some people threw off their Costco jackets (I think with name tags and all).

One jacket was on the train floor next to the heating vents and the other lying on the seat next to the window,

They were not neatly folded, but sort of angrily shoved there.

As people got on the train looking for a seat, over and over their eyes did a widening and they paused, some said, “What’s that? Did someone leave their clothes on the train?”

Two teenage girls and a boy started laughing and pointing.

No one would actually go near these–maybe they were afraid of germs or to get involved in whatever happened here.

Well Costco, if you’re looking for some of your long white jackets with emblem (one from your tire center), you may want to contact the lost and found in WMATA.

As for the employees, I don’t think they are coming back. 😉
