Integrity is Priority #1

good-name

So I was speaking with some leaders about what is most important to them in their organization.

And what was fascinating to me is that they didn’t describe the usual things…

– Leadership

– Innovation

– Emotional Intelligence

– Technical skills

And so on.

Instead and in all seriousness, they spoke with me about integrity.

Integrity is what I call, doing the right thing, always!

And I was so impressed how these leaders understood that integrity is integral to their organizational culture, and is the cornerstone to it’s ultimate success in everything else it does.

If everyone does the right thing, then the organization will do the right thing!

In the bible, we repeatedly learn the importance of following one’s moral compass.

– In Ecclesiastes (7:1), “A good name is better than fine perfume.”

– In Proverbs (22:1), “A good name is more desired than great wealth.”

And as in the photo above from a local synagogue, “A good name endures forever.”

What is new here though is that a good name and the integrity it takes to build that name for yourself is not just critical to your self development, but ultimately is really congruent and even synonymous with your organization’s success.

If unfortunately some are not doing “the right thing,” we need to know about it, so we can course correct.

What we do matters not only to ourselves, but to the larger organization and community that we live in.

Good is contagious, and it inspires more good, and this is what we want to be successful. 😉

Anti-Semitism From Obama To The World

Obama shakes hands with Netanyahu as they sit down to meet in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington

Olympics

This is what happens when President Obama sets a blatantly anti-semitic tone to his presidency by for example, snubbing at the White House the outreached hand of our ally and friend, Israel.

Subsequently, at the Rio Olympics this week, Egypt (right) snubs Israel (left) in the very same way.

Racism and hatred is a contagious disease of the heart, mind, and soul.

And this is especially the case, when racism and hatred emanate from the very top–the leader of the free world–the diametric opposite of true leadership by example and with integrity.

In this case, President Obama has numerous times displayed his outrageous anti-Semitic leanings making the Prime Minister of Israel exit out the back door of the White House, refusing to host him for dinner, to meet with him, or even shake his hand, and condones his administration calling him disgusting vile names.

Nations and people can disagree and they can still be the best of friends and allies, but Obama has chosen to display his very tangible anti-Semitism throughout his administration, and then culminated it with his dangerous nuclear deal and love affair with the Iranian regime, the #1 state sponsor of terrorism and human rights abuses worldwide.

Racism and hatred begets more racism and hatred in the world. It is an unleashing of evil between different peoples, instead of a bonding and brotherhood of all people.

Just look at the unfortunate effects in terms of racial divisiveness, global terrorism, civil war and coups, resurgent Russian and Chinese militaries, and the horrific impacts of violence, destruction, and refugees around the world today.

When the esteemed President declares it’s okay to hate–less than 70 years after the genocidal Holocaust that murdered 6 million Jews–then unfortunately it’s open season once again.

From The White House to the Olympics…President Obama has set a shameful, hate-filled anti-Semitic tone for his 8-year presidency.

Let us hope and pray that the next President is one that is not only a genuine solid leader, but also a good, decent, and loving human being. 😉

Welcome Ebola To America!

Ambulance Patient
While our self-declared intelligentsia has decided to keep the commercial flights open to Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone, experts are predicting that new ebola cases will reach 10,000 per week by December!

Moreover, the United Nations has warned that if Ebola is not controlled within the next 60 days, “the world faces an ‘unprecedented situation’ for which there is no plan.”

But by the time, we get our political will and act together, who knows…

What isn’t helping are publications like Bloomberg Businessweek, with another classic asinine article this time by Charles Kenny who writes–get this–that “A Travel Ban Is a Terrible Idea.”

While Kenny acknowledges “Travel restrictions have a long history as a tool against spreading infection” dating back already to the Middle Ages, Kenny is concerned about the “trade-offs” of quarantining the source countries–“because the benefits of contact outweigh the risks”–i.e. “People want to travel to see family and friends, visits places, work, or invest.”

Well Mr. Kenny, how about that people want to live and not die because of the irresponsible spread of this deadly virus? Two-thirds of the public, as well as many in Congress, and the media have already called for a common sense temporary travel ban.

Kenny then goes on to exaggerate and talk about how laughable it is that we would “completely seal off the U.S. from the rest of the world” even though what we are talking about are just the countries where this deadly infection is currently raging.

Further, Kenny is concerned not about containing the disease and protecting the more than 300,000,000 people in this country, but about the possibility that a ban on commercial flights “will deter people from volunteering to work in the region”–here again, Kenny ignores that specialized, trained people from the military, World Health Organization, Doctors Without Borders, and more are already being deployed–although too little too late.

Incredibly, Kenny even compares Ebola to the common flu, and intimates that since we don’t quarantine for the seasonal flu, why should we do it for Ebola–uh, Mr. Kenny have you heard that Ebola has a 70% mortality rate!

Finally, Kenny says in his defeatist way, “We live in a global disease pool. In the end, once a disease begins to spread, there’s no escaping an infection.”

Hello Mr. Kenny, we have a responsibility to prevent and protect our people–there is no place for your throwing in the towel on all of us–what a shame that Bloomberg makes this dangerous rhetoric the Opening Remarks for their magazine.

There is long established protocol of quarantine to stop the spread of infection–not that it would necessarily be 100% successful, but at least it would help contain and control the spread from getting worse, and we would learn to improve as we go along, and live to fight and save more lives now and in the future.

Ebola Has Arrived

Ebola 2
The Washington Post ran an article on August 1, “Why You Are Not Going To Get Ebola In The U.S.”

As of about 10 minutes ago, they are now reporting, “As Ebola Confirmed In U.S. , CDC vows, ‘We’re Stopping It In Its Tracks.'”

What do you think we’ll see in the news about Ebola within the next 6 months or year–completely eradicated, mostly contained, spreading slowly, or G-d forbid a global pandemic?

G-d should help us to conquer this disease quickly and completely.
