Ferrari Motor Furniture

This was very cool.

The first is a coffee table for the living room.

The second is half of a nice desk.

Both are made out of working Ferrari engines.

The coffee table goes for $50,000.

And the desk goes for $75,000.

I will told that this is a bargain based on what a working Ferrari engine goes for.

In a sense you can take your table for a spin around the block…LOL.

Truly the engine (and not just design of the car) is a work of art.

It merits being a centerpiece of your office or home. 😉

Bad Little Mousey

So a colleague told me about an awful experience at work.

They came into the office and had a big surprise.

I won’t ask you to guess what it was.

I’ll start off by giving you a hint.

It came from a mouse.

Yep, they actually had what they called, “mouse poop” on their desk.

Have to laugh even at the term…

But this is not what you want to have to deal with first thing in the morning, or anytime for that matter.

What can you do though?

We share the world with other living creatures and if they want to poop on your desk–what are you really gonna do about it?

I suggested setting some traps, but they said they want to see if it happens again.

That’s two too many times for me.

Now though I learned to be grateful if my desk is poop-free. 😉

Sit-Stand Computer Desk 1-2-3

This adjustable computer desk stand from Veridesk for sitting and standing is awesome.

Someone got this in the office, and it is the talk of the town.

It comes as one piece, no assembly required and you just place it under your computer–simple, easy!

Just push the handles on either side and the desk height adjusts variably up or down.

I found it on Amazon for just $325-$400 depending on the size and whether you have a double monitor.

My colleague at work said just try it and you will feel so good–this seems like a good healthy deal. 😉

The Geometric Desk

desk
Thought this desk was really nice.

Professional, clean, hardwood, and very polished!

Not overly large, but I  liked the geometry of this thing, which made up for it.

The square draws on one side and the inverted cone on the other–very cool.

Great design, and seemingly good quality for home or office.

Made in America? That would be especially nice (let’s bring the manufacturing home!)  😉

Where Did I Put That Action Memo?

Desk Piled High
Lots of people desks seem to look like this.

(Not me though…compulsive neat freak and learned from IBM’s “clean desk policy” early on in my career.)

In analyzing our fight against Islamic jihadists and terrorists, Daniel Henninger in the Wall Street Journal writes:

“In all the photos published of al Qaeda, Islamic State or any other terror groups, have you ever seen them sitting at desks?”

Henninger points out the root of “Bureaucracy” is the French word “Bureau,” which mean desk.

Hence, we in the West are stuck behind desks, while the terrorists are actively working to destroy our freedom and way of life–smashing down doors and wielding AK47s and suicide vests!

We’ve got to stop hiding behind our piled-high desks, analysis-paralysis position papers, endless meetings, and political bickering, and actually do something concrete, meaningful, and strong–to not only deter, but destroy the enemy!

Fear of making a decision or nonsense claims that your still searching for that action memo is something that should get you uprooted from your messy desk with a boot up your a*s!

Wake up, wake up, wake up–enough ho hum, we need some leadership that is bold, patriotic, and heroic to protect what we value so dear.

Don’t you think it’s time to win this war for real?
