The Origin of Government In The Bible

Government In Bible.jpeg

Thought this was a really interesting speech by the Rabbi Haim Ovadia in synagogue today.

The origin of government and the function/dysfunction of society and rule of law is rooted in the in beginnings of mankind as told in the Bible/Torah.

Starting with Adam and Even in the Garden of Eden — This was pretty much anarchy with only one law at the time not to eat the apple from the forbidden Tree of Knowledge.

Then in Noah’s Generation – There was oligarchy with roaming gangs that took the women and committed wickedness.

Followed by the Tower of Babel — This was communism with everyone united to build and have a common property, a great city and tower reaching to the heavens.

Subsequently Sodom & Gomorrah – This was capitalism with people looking after their own selves and cities, getting spoiled of their material goods, and committing all manner of vices.

And only then in the time of Abraham – There arose democracy with G-d electing Abraham and the Israelites based on lovingkindness and charity.

As we know from the Bible and can see in the chart above, only democracy resulted in blessings for all of mankind.

Yes, the election in the bible was made by G-d, but the notion is one based on “elected” representatives that do good and are a light for the whole world–so no, dictators need not apply!

The Bible is truly a blueprint for us as to how we can live our lives as well as how we can govern the world effectively . 😉

Never Ever More Vulnerable

Vulnerable.jpeg

So we have never been more technology advanced. And at the same time, we have never been more vulnerable

As we all know, our cybersecurity have not kept near pace with our ever growing reliance on everything technology.

There is virtually nothing we do now-a-days that does not involve networks, chips, and bits and bytes.

Energy

Transportation

Agriculture

Banking

Commerce

Health

Defense

Manufacturing

Telecommunications

If ANYTHING serious happens to cripple our technology base, we are toast!

From a crippling cyberattack that disables or hijacks our systems, steals or locks down our data, or creates massive chaotic misinformation flow to a EMP blast that simply fries all our electronic circuitry–we are at the mercy of our technology underpinnings.

Don’t think it cannot happen!

Whether it’s Wannacry ransonware or the Equifax breach of our privacy data or the Kaspersky Labs hidden backdoor to our top secret files or North Korea threatening to hit us with an EMP–these are just a few of the recent cyber events of 2017!

Technology is both a blessing and a curse–we have more capability, more speed, more convenience, more cost-effectiveness than ever before, but also there is greater vulnerability to complete and utter death and destruction!

This is not just a risk that life could become more difficult or inconvenient–it is literally an existential threat, but who wants to think of it that way?

People, property, and our very society is at risk when our cybersecurity is not what it must be.

It’s a race of defensive against offensive capability.

And we can’t just play defense, we had better actually win at this! 😉

Nuke Fear Turning To Action?

No Nukes.jpeg

What sane person would not be afraid of the incredibly destructive power of nukes (and other weapons of mass destruction)?

Currently, there are about 15,000 either stockpiled or poised to strike around the world.

Enough deadly weapons to kill the entire planet!

After a frightening series of 5 nukes tests since 2006 plus 18 technologically progressive ballistic missiles tests over the last 6 months, things are escalating after new sanctions imposed to try to contain the threat–with North Korea rattling it’s nuclear arsenal with a shrill threat of attack moving to “physical action” and the U.S. shooting back “fire and fury,
”

As to further North Korean mad progress, it was reported that they are developing a powerful new H-bomb with immense destructive power, especially towards our density killing fields:

– If such a weapon would strike, G-d forbid, Washington D.C., it could mean 500,000 dead and another 900,000 injured–let alone what this would mean in terms of a destructive decapitation to the very functioning and continuity of our government and country.

– Even worse fatalities would occur should it strike our financial capital, New York City, with estimates of 1.7 million dead.

Hence, the news that this is no joking matter anymore (as if it really ever was).

Fears typically first get expressed in rhetoric, but then with greater and ever potent means for them to become reality, the risks increase for them to actually make the horrific leap.

What happens next with the ever menacing dangers from rogue Axis of Evil nations, North Korea and Iran–and will we ever feel and be safe again, absent any meaningful social progress while they continue to absolutely and speedily advance their ever more deadly weapons programs and the means to deliver them, first class. ;-0

Behold, The Day Cometh

Sky.jpeg

{I don’t know what this is, but it came to me, and it just feels important to share…I start to feel spiritually overwhelmed, very emotional, and then all choked up…and so it starts}

Behold, the day cometh when the earth will open it’s mouth.

And there will be a very great slaughter.

And the earth will shake and tremble before the Holy One blessed be he.

He walks before the nation of Israel.

Ready to strike with the all-powerful tip of His spear.

Like a bolt of lightening without warning.

Magnificent in beauty and damning in tumultuous energy.

The sky thunders before His majesty.

The angels stir and flee before the All-Mighty Creator.

His holiness envelopes the earth and stars.

His eyes are full of mercy, but justice is in his mighty outstretched arm.

Those that stand in evil before His glory will soon be buried in a very great rubble.

The skies are darkening; the day is arriving.

And all the people will know that G-d dost live, and His people shall live.

Evil will be obliterated from off the face of the earth, and His holiness will manifest in peace and redemption.

The implements of war will be smashed to smithereens, engulfed within the insides of the earth.

And their makers buried beside them, crushed and utterly destroyed.

A mass grave to the east and to the west, and then a great rebuilding.

From the L-rd goeth forth justice to his enemies and mercy to His children.

{The streaming stops suddenly…I want it to continue…but it’s over…I try my own words, but they are not His…I give up for today.}

Easy Solution to Axis of Evil

Missile.jpeg

So there is an easy solution to the hellbent destruction of the Axis of Evil…

North Korea and Iran are sworn to the destruction of the U.S. and it’s allies.

Repeatedly, they sponsor global terrorism, abuse human rights, violate agreements against proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, conduct nuke tests, and missile launches.

Instead of destroying the missiles immediately upon launch or on the launchpad, which is a nice start…

Let’s just do this:

– When North Korea launches, let’s redirect the guidance system on the missile to Tehran.

– And when Iran launches their missiles, let’s redirect it toward Pyongyang.

We don’t have to fire a single volley.

Let the evil ones destroy each other and have a gangbusters time doing it. 😉

Nation In Denial

NK.jpeg

We are a nation in utter denial over our problems.

Just to name a few…

Whether from the threat of North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un, who smiled while displaying a video yesterday of nuclear missiles destroying the USA.

To the shooting death of three in Fresno, CA yesterday by a man shouting “Allahu Akbar” that was deemed not a terrorist attack.

To our national debt of $20 trillion which quadrupled in just the last 15 years under the administration of both political parties.

Unfortunately, denial is still alive and well, while smiling photos of the North Korean dictator adorn the light poles outside the capital of the USA.

We don’t like to admit our problems be it from despots threatening us with WMD to global terrorism that gives us no peace, and a mammoth debt that is sinking our national economic sustainability.

Smile for the camera!

Don’t worry about big problem-solving.

What we don’t admit can’t hurt us or can it?  😉

Balancing Change and Stability

balancing-change-jpeg

So new leaders frequently want to come into town like a knight in shining armor riding speedily on their white stallions to “save the day.”

Being new and needing to prove themselves, change and quick results are the imperative.

The problem is that fast, quick wins can be mistakenly and superficially achieved while sacrificing longer-term organization success.

We push people to hard, too fast, and without the underlying care and emotional feeding to duly support the rainbow in the sky changes being sought.

People are human beings that need to be brought along in a unified manner and with a solid infrastructure and not plowed over for the sake of some short-term gains.

You can push for change so hard–you can crack the whip and you can demand what you want when you want–but rest-assured that you are leaving a great pile of destruction in your wake.

Performance results are built by maintaining a sane balance between change and stability–pushing others to do more with less has to be replaced instead with getting out front yourself and pulling the organizational weight at a measured pace so that workers aren’t trampled by the raw, unbridled ambition of the leadership.

You may have a great scorecard of accomplishments, but they may be the tip of what is otherwise an iceberg of discontent and disaster beneath.
