Parachute Running

This is a cool new hot activity.

Sprinting with a parachute on for added resistance.

Add in the hot, humid, summer sun burning down.

And you have yourself a decent exercise routine going on.

Hurry up and slow down.

You run yes, but the parachute says no.

Go! go!! go!!!

You’re almost over the finish line. 😉

Holding Back The Tide

These rocks are holding their own against the tide.

They are also standing the test of time.

We all need to push back against the tide when wrong is pushing forward.

Whether its corruption or violence.

Be like a rock!

Choose good over evil in every situation.  😉

From Hate To Love

Just a self-reflection today…

Important to me.

It’s about who I thought I was and…

Who I became.

Truly, I went full circle from a child’s hate to an adult’s love relationship with:

– Reading

– Writing

– Swimming

– Hebrew

As a kid, I tried to avoid these like the plague, and as an adult I like to practice these every single day of my life.

I wonder to myself is it that I strove to become good (or decent) at what I have previously been bad at or was somehow afraid of.

Yet now, they are integral to my life, learning, and growth.

Like the hands of a clock that circle and tick the hours and minutes.

My life takes me full circle and brings me home to who I am and what I really love spending time at. 😉

You Can Overcome It!

I like this runner’s shirt a lot.

It says:

Courage is endurance for one moment more.

Just when you feel that you cannot go on for another moment.

Just when you are at your very limit.

Just when you’ve reached your total breaking point.

Then…

You take that deep breath and focus your mind intently.

You disassociate yourself from the pain and struggle.

You see the challenge in front of you for what it really is and you raise yourself above and beyond it.

Your inner spirit is so much greater than its power over you.

You have the inner faith and can endure whatever it is.

You can overcome it! 😉

Making The Impossible, Possible

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “Making The Impossible, Possible.”

Even though the Jewish people are a tiny minority in the world, through our faith, determination, and the help of G-d, we are able to survive against all odds, contribute to the world far beyond our mere numbers, and succeed in truly incredible ways. From Einstein, Freud, and Marx to Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison, we are a people that punches way above our weight.

I believe the lessons of faith and determination is one that we can all take away from the tests of our forefathers in the Bible to the flourishing modern State of Israel and to how we live our own lives today. G-d tests all of us, and if we go forward and answer His calling with a full heart and perseverance, G-d will help us to succeed above our wildest of dreams and even beyond the very laws of nature.

Win Rocky Win

I found this Rocky gem on eBay.

And it arrived, all wrapped up nicely, in the mail yesterday.

Rocky working out and training.

His shirt says:

Win Rocky Win

I posed him with his arms up in the air like after a fight in the ring.

Love his fighting spirit, determination, and integrity.

Overcoming against all odds.

Great inspiration.

Some say we actually look alike. 😉

Hungry Pac-Man

Saw this in a window from the street.

Pac-Man eating the dots/pellets and going for the ghost.

The classic arcade video game from 1980s still speaks volumes.

Pac-Man is goal-oriented and hungrily eat the pellet pieces, but if the ghosts touch him first then he’s toast (or at least one of his 3 lives are).

Not so different from real life…

We try to reach our goals, by taking one bite at a time until we “eat the elephant.”

But if those people who are naysayers, haters, Debbie Downers, and obstructionists, get to us first, then we can not only lose momentum, and but also eventually be forced to divert or miss out on achieving our goals.

Ghosts aren’t hollow friendly creatures, but those who want to stop progress, stop you, and maybe even end your pellet-eating life.

You need to eat the super “power pellets” to overcome and eat the ghosts.

Eating all the pellets can be a herculean task requirement strength, resourcefulness, and determination, but that’s what takes you to the next level in the game of life. 😉

Project Suicide

This was sort of a funny scene in a project meeting.

One person describing the challenges at one point, spontaneously and dramatically motions to take a knife and slit both wrists.

This absolutely got people’s attention.

Understanding the struggles the person was expressing, and trying to add a little lightheartedness to the situation, I say:

“This is a tough project, pass around the knife.”

This got a good hearty laugh around the table, with one person saying that this was the quote of the day.

Anyway, we want to make operations as effortless as possible on people, but the project work to get there is definitely making people work for it.

Let’s avoid project or people suicide–be supportive of each other, pace ourselves, team together, and problem-solve to get it successfully over the finish line.

Soon we can celebrate all the challenges we overcame together and from our determined efforts, all the wonderful results. 😉
