Superhero Dress

This dress was a standout.

Superhero dress by D&G.

Comic style with the pow and bam!

I don’t get the pig superhero logo on the ugly green jacket and other similar merchandise next to it.

Uh, who wants to wear and look like a pig?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

D&G is off the deep end. 😉

Israel Style

Today we walked around Tel Aviv and went to the Art Museum here and also the stores, grocery, and cafes.

What I really liked was seeing it up close and not from the back of a tour bus.

After just a day or so, I started to feel like I was really experiencing life here.

Crossing Menachem Begin Road, we ran into these fashion-conscious ladies.

The colorful clothes and hair, the tall blue shoes, the ripped leggings of the women on the left definitely stood out.

Juxtaposed is the lady on the right in the black dress, short haircut, bag, and glasses.

This pair was a standout!

In a way, I miss the Holy lifestyle of Jerusalem here in Tel Aviv, but at the same time, I like the cosmopolitan and modern life here too.

Anyway, I feel like I am learning a lot and enjoying experiencing culture and religion Israel-style.

Ok To Be Ourselves!

Star of David Dress.jpeg

Someone shared this beautiful Jewish wedding gown on Facebook and I wanted to share it with you, because it represents life, love, and faith.

While perhaps normally I wouldn’t just post this to my blog…

I thought that in light of the report that came out of 917 hate groups operating right now in the United States, that I would take this as an opportunity to be me.

To hell with all the haters out there!

– The more they hate us, the more I will love my Jewishness.

– The more they try to stamp out our religious freedom, the more I will relish in it.

– The more they try to kill us, the more I will live as a Jew.

No more Holocausts…no more bigotry…no more hate–it is enough! 😉

Indian Wedding Rocks

Loved seeing this amazing Indian wedding.

The rocking music, the beautiful colorful outfits, the pageantry, and the adorned white horse.

While this looked like a relatively small and intimate wedding–perhaps quality balances out quantity.

Although one of my good friends from India told me that he had 4,000!!! people at his wedding that was held in a stadium–I can barely even imagine how awesome that was.

So happy…all life should be great times like this. 😉

Tznius Police

Tzniut.jpeg

So there is an important concept in Judaism as well as other religions of modesty for the sexes.

This means appropriately covering up in dress and acting modestly.

In Hebrew, we call it Tznius!

As kids, I remember the kids used to sing, “Tznius, don’t show you knee-ius.”

It seems like these days, “everything goes,” where extreme sexuality in public and showing off is the rage.

But as I remember the older generation saying, “Maybe some things are better left to the imagination.”

That doesn’t mean we need to be a bunch of prudes–inhibit or prohibit people from being who they are.

Freedom means everyone is allowed and has a fundamental right to self-expression.

But also, people that want to show more restraint and modesty can do that too.

Perhaps, sometimes things in our society can get a little too superficial, where like and love is only skin deep.

We forget the inner person and the soul in lieu of momentary pleasures of the flesh.

I don’t think we need the tznius police to come out and tell us what to do, but rather that we need to be consider people inside and out for what and who they really are. 😉

Fun Summer Fashion

Summer Dress
Sharing this “fashion” photo that I took in Washington, D.C. this week.

This Summer dress is colorful, happy, and cool.

It makes a bold statement with an almost tie-dye like design and flowing colors almost wrapping the woman in the brilliant spiraling motif.

While it is casual, it is also relatively modest through it floor length.

In a fairly busy city, this dress was a stand out and IMHO was a Summer fashion yes. 😉

Fashionistas Oh Mista

Armani
I found this gorgeous picture on Facebook.

I believe this model on the runway is wearing Armani.

The green dress is overflowing with beautiful ruffles, accented only by a black belt.

As the model walks down the black and white runway, the whole outfit just seems to pop with soft texture and sheer eloquence.

I showed it to my daughter and she was hesitant about it, thinking that the green color made her look like a tree and surrounding foliage.

I can see her point–maybe a nice sky blue or candy pink would be better…I think all three on stage would be amazing! 😉

Dress With Air Conditioning

Fashion
This was a very cool outfit, indeed.

This lady in Florida is wearing a dress that is closed/covered up in front, but open–except for these threads, literally–in the behind.

I am fairly sure this was not cheap and someone definitely put a lot of thought into designing it.

It certainly gets some attention as it’s a little unexpected.

Anyway, she was actually a very nice lady who helped me with some ties.

A good dresser too.  😉
