The Only Fixer

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “The Only Fixer.”

I’m reading the famous book, The Fixer by Bernard Malamud. It’s about the horrible pogroms in Russia and the blood libels where the Jews would be ridiculously accused of sorcery and witchcraft, and the killing of Christian children for their blood to put in Passover matzah!

In short, hate and hurt can’t be excused because you can. Wielding power gives you authority, but also the extra responsibility. There is such a thing as acting justly. And then there isn’t. Usually, when someone is acting justly, they can explain themselves in a balanced, calm, and rationale way. It makes sense! When they are doing wrong, it’s usually extreme, abrupt, and ultimately inexplicable and therefore can’t be articulated. Hence, that’s the way it is, Fixer. Who is The Fixer? Again, I don’t care!

Still Fighting For Our Rights

This picture about sums where we are in having to protest the same things we’ve been fighting for since the beginning of time:

I can not believe I still have to protest this crap!!

Just went you thought humanity (at least Western civilization) had mostly evolved past all the discrimination, biases, bigotry, prejudice, and racisms.

We arrive in time only to find out that HATE is still brewing in our societies and people’s evil hearts.

What a shame–that we misinterpret what divides us as taking precedence over what unites us!

What a pity–that we misjudge people by the color of their skin, their race, their religion, etc. instead of by the worthiness of their deeds.

What a disgrace–that we mistreat our fellow man simply because they are different from us and in the most superficial of ways.

With all our scientific advances and technological progress, we are still in stone ages of the evolution of our humanity.  😉

‘Uncut Gems’ Cuts Deep

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “Uncut Gems Cuts Deep.”

Yesterday, we went to see the new Adam Sandler movie, Uncut Gems….Ratner’s life is full of shlemazel of his own making. While he has a good wife, kids, and extended family (maybe with the exception of his loan shark uncle), a fancy-schmancy home in the suburbs with a newly renovated pool, his own jewelry business that even caters to some big-league sports players, and a shiksa girlfriend on the side (who seems to love him), Ratner is never satisfied or happy and is always pushing for more!

In the movie, Howard Ratner was driven by greed and made bad life choices, and to me, it was a shame that the he was portrayed as a Jew, which can feed the vicious cycle of discrimination and hatred that has often been anchored around money. With the vicious machete attack on Chanukah at a Rabbi’s house in Monsey this week (after a slew of other anti-Semitic incidents, including an attack on a student for wearing a yalmulke on the NYC Subway to beatings and tire slashings of Jews in Brooklyn), we are reminded that there is once again a resurgence of prejudice and hate against Jews, but also that it’s the light of Chanukah that “drives out the darkness,” and that money and materialism are a mere shabby substitute to finding true security and success whether you work in the dense NYC Diamond District or live in the sprawling suburbs of America.

Operation Thunderbolt: Fighting Prejudice and Persecution

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called “Operation Thunderbolt: Fighting Prejudice and Persecution.”

No people should suffer blatant prejudice and persecution and everyone should be “entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” These are part of the foundational values that America and Israel share. We stand as friends and allies for respecting and valuing human rights, always to be underscored by peace and security for our peoples. Isn’t it an amazing “coincidence” that the rescue in Entebbe occurred on America’s 200th anniversary, July 4, 1976!

The raid on Entebbe and the miraculous rescue of the hostages stands as an everlasting symbol of courage and triumph of good over evil. As we continue to work and pray for a genuine peace in the Middle East for all its inhabitants, we also must stand resolutely and say “Never Again.”

Not WHO They Seem

People may all sort of look alike.

But they are not all the same.

It’s NOT a matter of race, religion, color, sexual orientation, etc. that is important.

But rather it’s what is inside people’s hearts.

Some hearts are pure in intent (even if not in every deed).

Others are sullied with hate and abuse of others just because they can.

But why hurt others when you can help them?

People are not all the same.

Inside they are different.

Luckily G-d looks at the inside; the outside is just the packaging. 😉

Beautiful Anne Frank

In Remembrance of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Observance) today:

This is a beautiful Hebrew song about Anne Frank who at age 13 went into hiding in Amsterdam from the Nazis.

For two years, they stayed in the attic…not being able to make a sound or open a window.

But she kept an amazing diary that preserves for us the life and suffering they went through.

After 761 days, they were discovered and Anne Frank was was sent to Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

Anne and her sister Margot died in Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp.

This child was beautiful and her story lives to remind us of the evil that we face and the survival that we all must.  😉

___

Song:

Anne Frank’s Diary

Lyrics:

A book hides me.
And what, what a fear.
My father, my mother and my sister,
With the neighbors together.
We are all in silence and quiet,
With only the heart whispering whispers.
Here they hide from the soldiers,
Which our soul seeks.
My diary, my precious,
Oh Kitty, my friend.
Will I ever see a sunrise?
Will I find my death?
In the tiny rooms, From a suffocating feeling.
Cold days and clouds.
Nights of terror and silence.
It’s not true, it’s not right,
I want to laugh out loud.
Dance, sing and play,
I’m a child, all in all.
My diary, my precious …
There are terrible moments,
In our relations.
So crowded here in the apartment, Everything is closing in on us.
Food is also very lacking, The war within the city.
Will I live? Will I survive?
Do you still love and sing?
My diary, my precious …

The Hateful, Anti-Semitic New York Times

This is what has become of the garbage New York Times…

Resorting to anti-Semitism, hate, and incitement against the Jewish people and Israel.

This from the New York Times “coincidentally” the same day that a shooting spree took place at a synagogue in California resulting with one women dead, multiple people injured, and the Rabbi losing one or more of his fingers.

Complete disgrace on the hateful, Anti-Semitic New York Times!

U.S. Department of Justice investigation!!!

Amazing how the alt-left liberals, with the New York Times leading the march of hate, profess to fight against every …phobia and …ism, except of course, against the age-old Anti-Semitism!

How are the New York Times’ disgusting “leadership” going to be held accountable?

For every decent person still out there, please dump your subscription to the garbage New York Times and stand up against the hateful publication that it truly is.

Impeach + AOC

I saw these two photos separately.

But I instantly realized that they belong together.

Like peanut butter and jelly.

Who is a bigger pee brain than AOC?

* She impulsively lost 25,000 jobs and $5 billion investment in NYC from Amazon (as well as about $27.5 billion in tax revenue over 25 years).

* Her ridiculous Green New Deal wanted to rid us of farting cows and airplanes and didn’t get a single yes vote in the Senate (even from her own party).

* AOC stated that the three branches of government are the “the presidency, the senate, and the house” (Uh, wrong!).

* Ocasio-Cortez boasts insanely that government deficit-spending doesn’t really matter (hmm, I wonder is that how she handles her personal finances too?).

* She allies herself with fellow anti-American and anti-Semites like:

– Ilhan “(Schmilhan) Somebody Did Something [on 9/11]” Omar

– Rashida “(Israel-Hater) They Forgot What Country They Represent” Tlaib

– Linda “Muslim Brotherhood” Sarsour

How did anyone actually vote for (or support) people like these to run this amazing country?  😉

Ilhan Omar – Laughing At Terrorism Against America

It’s time to stop defending this anti-American hate-monger who sits in the esteemed House of Representatives.

Omar’s words:

When I was in college, I took at terrorism class….we learned the ideology…Every time the professor said Al Qaeda, his shoulder went back {in intensity/fear}…We are laughing his name.

Watch her video here mocking Americans about terrorists, Al Qaeda–the same who killed 3,000 people on 9/11.

This is just one of many instances of her extreme callousness, like where she recently said casually about 9/11, “Some people did something“–that something which was a mass murder terror attack on American soil.

As we contemplate the hate-mongering of Ilhan Omar, we should think about what Luthern pastor, Martin Niemoller once cautioned:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

This isn’t about left and right, but about hatred, bigotry, and racism at the highest levels, and we need to stand together against it. 😉

Democrats and Anti-Semitism

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel, called “From Belgium To The Democratic Party.”

There are terrible anti-Semitic events happening in parallel in Europe and right here in America. This past week, Belgian hosted mocking and hateful caricatures of Orthodox Jews in their carnival procession. And right here in Washington, D.C., the Democratic Party made a complete farce of the handling of one of its own, anti-Semites, Rep. Ilhan Omar. Omar continues to vent her hared against Israel even going so far as to denounce its supporters as having “dual loyalty.”

It is so disheartening to see the Democratic party reverting back to its ugly days and roots of hate just like during/after the Civil War when they were the party of “opposition to civil and political rights for African Americans.”

The question is how far down this evil path will things go again?  😉
