-25,000 Jobs NYC

While some politicians are hard at work to create jobs, revive our manufacturing, and expand our economy…

…Others like NY Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are busy destroying jobs from her city.

After a grueling competition for the Amazon HQ2 with 200 cities offering incentives to land one of two 2nd Headquarters for Amazon, the winners were Arlington, VA and Long Island City, NY.

These lucky cities were to divide 50,000 new jobs and $5 billion in investment by technology and e-Commerce behemoth, Amazon.

Instead of thanking G-d for their good fortune and celebrating their win under the political savvy of New York’s Governor, Andrew Cuomo and NYC’s Mayor, Bill de Blasio, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez railed against the “corporate welfare” and basically killed the deal.

What should be critically noted is that incentives for Amazon were based on meeting their performance benchmarks for NYC and Arlington and were not corporate charity or handouts.

What Socialist, Ocasio-Cortez failed to understand is that Capitalism is successful precisely because of competition and incentives for performance, and that capital is ideally allocated to where it can get its highest return.

In short, New York and Virginia weren’t giving away the farm, they were competing for great jobs and investment in their cities–and that’s what 200 cities recognized from Mexico, Canada, and the U.S.

Aside from AOC’s blatant bigotry and Anti-Semitism so far, she has goofed with a Green Deal that promised income security (socialist handouts) to those “unwilling to work” and sought to get rid of everything from “farting cows” to Airplanes, and now she’s lost 25,000 jobs in NY.

Voters in NY and Democrats in Congress should be paying attention to their new Socialist champion and one of its extremists in chief.

Getting Rid Of The “Farting Cows”

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “Getting Rid of the Farting Cows:

When politicians are extremists (Alt-left or -right) and want to get rid of “farting cows” and airplanes, then who knows what or who is next on their genocidal list (and with the elimination of cows being all too reminiscent of the notion of Jews going “like sheep to the slaughter.”)

Bigotry, hate and extremism is unbecoming of a Congressional Representative like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and they should be resolutely rejected– it hurts an important environmental cause and needs to be rejected for the cows and for us. 😉

The New Faces Of Hate

Representative Illhan Omar claims Congressional lawmakers are bribed to support U.S. friend and ally, Israel:

“It’s all about the Benjamins baby”.

Representative Rashida Tlaib said about congressional representatives supporting Israel in a bill  that would punish companies that participate in Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) to further Israel’s destruction.

“They forget what country they represent.”

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stated about Israel’s defending their sovereign border with Gaza amidst terrorist organization, Hamas-led violent protests, terror attacks, and infiltrations into Israel:

“This is a massacre. I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such. No state is absolved of the mass shooting of protesters.”

“Silence” around the Palestinian cause “has been a little interesting to me.”

Perhaps, the most concerning thing is where is the Democratic Party leadership in calling out these anti-Semitic hate-mongers in their ranks?

Democrats and Democracy

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “Democrats and Democracy–Could It Be Again?

The polarization, opposition, racism, and hatred is despicable and seems to only be getting worse. Two more people came to me today after synagogue to tell me they are “resigning” from the democratic party. We all used to love the Democratic Party and what it stood for, especially as Jews, who know the endless and murderous barbs of discrimination and anti-Semitism. What has happened? What once stood for freedom, respect, and dignity for all has turned upside down and inside out. All I hear now is hate, hate, and more hate.

Whichever political party and leadership can do what’s right for the nation and adhere to civil rights, human rights, and doing what’s right–that’s the one for me. 😉

The Divided States Of America

Divided States.JPEG

So the way the alt-left are fighting it out with President Trump…with violent protests, riots, marches, insults, beatings, fires, broken windows, and sheer contempt,  you’d think we were in a third world country under a brutal dictator, or worse.

Gone is the respect, decency, compromise, and diplomacy among valid differences of opinion and points of view.

Talking it out and working it out…forget about it.

Aside from taking up arms, it’s almost like this country is in a second civil war

The United States has become the divided states.

Hitler, Nazis, Stalin, Commies!

California wants to secede (like Texas wanted to previously).

Lawsuits against the President.

Screams, posters and groups of “Not my President.”

Celebrities threatening to pack up and leave the country.

Refusals to carry out the laws of the land.

People joining the resistance and underground.

Secret communications in agencies

Plotting and threats for a military overthrow of the Presidency

Calls for blowing up the White House.

Tweets calling for assassination and pics posted of what it would look like.

Yet there are no death camps, no razor sharp wire, no attack dogs ripping the flesh off people, no forced labor, no death marches, no brutal beatings, no starvation of prisoners, no poison gas showers, no crematoria, no firing squads, no mass graves, no gruesome experiments on twins, no vicious assaults, no sexual abuse and rapes, no Star of David patches to be worn, no threats to exterminate.

While of course, we need to ensure “Never Again” for all of us– even the slightest inkling of it–is there really a bona-fide “again” or “inkling” here in the first place?

Have A Nice Doomsday

Nuke Doomsday.jpeg

This was a photo of a photo I took at Washington Artworks this past weekend.

An anti-nuke demonstration outside the White House with signs that say:

“Live by the bomb, die by the bomb.”

and

“Ban all nuclear weapons or have a nice doomsday.”

This was particularly interesting juxtaposed to the editorial in the Wall Street Journal yesterday by the UAE Ambassador to the U.S. who reflected on “one year after the Iran nuclear deal” and outright stated:

“Don’t be fooled. The Iran–we have long known–hostile, expansionist, violent–is alive and well.”

And he goes on to cite the multiple ballistic missile tests by Iran (October, November, and March), the firing of rockets by Iran dangerously close to a U.S. aircraft carrier (December), the detaining of US Navy sailors on their knees broadcast to the world (January), an $8 billion purchase by Iran of Russian fighter jets, planes, and helicopters (February), and the seizure of shipments by Iran of large weapons caches supporting terrorism around the world (February, March, and April) including just yesterday when the U.S. seized thousands of AK-47s and RPGs headed for Yemen.

The editorial ends…

“Our hope for a new Iran should not cloud the reality that the old Iran is very much still with us–as dangerous and as disruptive as ever,”

Let’s pray that our earnest yearnings for peace with Iran (and North Korea for that matter) does not end in the polar opposite…a “nice” nuke doomsday scenario by the leading state sponsor(s) of terrorism worldwide. 😉

Unwillingness To Face Inconvient Facts

Homeless Hungry.jpeg

The Wall Street Journal today has a poignant editorial by Daniel Henninger on the fractured nation we have become.

Henninger describes the feeling of a country ranging from fury to depression when an underlying vibrant free nation is overcome by a political fantasy of global disengagement and a doctrine of leadership from behind.

And it’s not just the continued downtrodden state domestically–see photo above from this morning’s homeless and hungry on Washington, D.C.’s streets.

But blinded by a fearful political undertone that can’t even utter the words radical Islamists, we have taken it yet another wayward step further unable to utter the words terrorism.

With respect to the mass murder of at least 14 in California yesterday by–multiple Islamist attackers blasting off AR-15 assault rifles–the FBI in Los Angeles says this, terrorism “is a possibility, but we don’t know that yet, and we’re not willing to go down the road yet.”

There is not even anymore a facade of objectivity where we say perhaps something like: it certainly look’s like terrorism, but we need to investigate and verify–instead what we get is an unwillingness to face down our enemies and the terror of our times or even to openly consider the possibility.

Ha, it COULD BE that these are 2 completely non-radicalized folks, who happen to have terrorist ties and communications, just found the guns and pipe bombs on the side of the road, got abducted by aliens who brainwashed them to commit mass murder, and just coincidentally after ISIS threatened attacks in the U.S.–anything is possible.

But terrorism–that’s RIDICULOUS!

From the disgraceful suffering of the downtrodden and needy individuals on our streets across America to the global disorder that we are seeing daily, we are continuing to lose ground, respect, and time. 😉

When Terror Strikes–We Do What?

When Terror Strikes

Bret Stephens in the Wall Street Journal today writes compellingly about how tolerance for terror (or what he calls tolerance for intolerance) is allowing it to happen.

For example, Jews are getting knifed, stoned, and intentionally run over almost daily in the Holy Land and not a peep from anyone, except to blame it on settlements, even though this extreme barbaric violence was happening long before there ever was a single settlement

It has become okay to use violence–even terrible sickening and brutal violence against civilians–and as much of it as one can muster–if you have a perceived gripe. Shall we talk burning victims alive, running over live bound victims with tanks, throwing gays off of the roofs of buildings, beheadings and crucifixions, serial killings and mass graves, abducting young girls as sex slaves, use of chemical weapons and indiscriminate bombings and shootings, and more.

So what do we do?

– We tolerate the intolerable by excusing absolute insufferable violence against innocent men, women, and children, because some are feeling upset or aggrieved–so we show maybe misplaced compassion, where we should be expressing outrage at inhumane acts of murder and barbarism.

– We negotiate to try and appease the terrorists, but they couldn’t care less about deals when blood is the only thing that will quench their thirst for Jihad, power, and a new Caliphate.

– We use bold but empty phrases to placate the public and victim’s families–such as we are at war or we will be merciless and we will destroy them. and then we perform another single bombing run and drop 20 in retaliation (on perhaps empty buildings as the enemy claims) after the U.S. has already run 6,000 bombing runs previously.

– We are afraid to name the enemy, with democratic candidates at Saturday’s night debate even refusing to use the term “radical Islamists

– We are afraid to fight the good and necessary fight–after the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, some are “war weary,” or perhaps pacifists to an out of bounds extreme–where we are willing to risk another major attack on U.S. soil rather than appropriately defend ourselves and bring the fight to the enemy.

WAKE UP USA, EU, NATO, AND UN.

This problem is not going away–it is not “contained”–the war is not won–far from it. 😉

Reform The Movement

Hamas_Children

So was very glad to read this week about a top Sunni cleric who called for educational reform to combat “extremist violence.”

Sheik Ahmend al-Tayeb, a grand imam in Cairo said “corrupt interpretations” of the Koran and of Muhammad was leading to a rise of Middle East-based terrorism.

This to hopefully stem the flow of what is now being reported as 20,000 foreign fighters flocking to join ISIS

What is amazing here is that good Muslim people are recognizing the problem with radicalization, extremism, and violence and are speaking out.

Yet, many of our own leaders in the Western world still refuse to say the dirty words “Islamic terrorism.”

The President saying instead: “No religion is responsible for terrorism–people are responsible for violence and terrorism.

So perhaps, according to this “logic,” no movement is responsible for what their people do–only the individuals are?

And therefore, accordingly, the Nazis would not be responsible for the Holocaust, nor America for Slavery, nor Communism for political purges, oppression, and violation of human rights, etc. etc.

…in which case, there would be no apologies, no regrets, no reparations, no museums, no memorials, nothing–because this was just some individuals doing some bad things and those individuals are may no longer even be here with us.

Doesn’t this ignore the very basic and fundamental fact that when the masses follow a movements’ (genuine or distorted) ideological teachings of hatred, racism, and discrimination, and the people act nefariously on this, then does not the movement itself hold some responsibility for the murderous and evil actions committed based on their doctrine?

The Sheik who denounced terror and called for changes to the education in the Muslim community is recognizing what apparently many of our own leaders refuse to, which is that they–and we–are responsible for what is taught and tolerated in our communities.

As Peggy Noonan recently wrote, “The reality is that the Islamic State is…very Islamic.

Currently, we are fighting a war on radical Islamic terrorism…whether that terror is committed on Charlie Hebdo, a Jewish grocery store, or the World Trade Centers.

That does not mean that tomorrow, we are not fighting against some other movement’s treachery.

This is why good people everywhere must stand up and speak out when they see religions, governments, institutions, or other movements preach and teach lies, hatred, and terror.

Bad (or hijacked good) movements drive bad actors…so we must not only go after the bad guys, but also hold the movements themselves to account.

We must demand that the lies and distortions be called out for what they are and that truth and virtue be held up in its place. 😉

Where Is The Outrage?

This past week a self-professed Al Qaeda jihadist, trained in the militant camps of Pakistan and Afghanistan murdered in cold blood three Jewish children and a teacher (who happened to be the father of the two boys killed, ages 3 and 6).

The 8-year old girl pictured above was the beautiful daughter of the school’s headmaster and was yanked by hair while the killer reloaded his gun and then shot her in the head, point blank.

A fifth victim, another student, a boy age 17 is critically wounded in the hospital.

The Killer, Mohamed Merah had just the prior week, in two attacks, murdered 3 black French solders as well.

So why did he do it?  He tells us it was to avenge Palestinian children and for the French foreign interventions, as he said on the video “you kill my brothers, now I kill you.”

So now this terrorist with an extensive rap sheet (as many as 18 prior acts of violence) is dead, and yet insanely, the terrorists consider him a martyr.

And while condolences are heard to all victims, is there sufficient outrage at the murder of innocent school children and terrorists’ complete disregard for human life and societal norms?

More than a decade after the tragedy of 9/11 with nearly 3,000 murdered, followed by almost 6,400 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, we still cannot fully come to terms with the enemy we face and the threats they pose.

The people killed in terrorist attacks around the world–whether in a school yard in Toulouse, a luxury hotel in Mumbai, train attacks in London and Madrid, a nightclub attack in the Philippines, a plane flight over Lockerbie Scotland, a truck bomb at the U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut, a homicide attack at a pizza parlor in Jerusalem, and countless others around the world have stained our consciences with the blood of innocents, so that the girl pictured, killed this week with a bullet to the brain is no longer special to anyone except her family, friends, and people who loved her.

The blood of the victims of terrorism is not cheap and neither is that of Jewish children–it is high time for outrage at the enemy that takes human life so gleefully.
