Who You Gonna Trust

trust

We start out life as innocent children with inherent trust in those that care for us.

It is nice to feel safe, loved, and cared for by people who dote over your every gurgle, smirk, fart, and spaghetti sauce smear on the face.

As people grow older and have negative experiences however, they become more guarded and jaded by what they learn about other people’s motives and agendas and how vulnerable and hurt they can get.

Unfortunately, these days kids have to fear from pedophiles, parents that are addicts and wildly abusive, and teachers that let out their emotional problems on children that look up to them for guidance and education.

As we get older, there are bullies in school and thugs on the street.

And even in the office, there are those that abuse their positions of power and can make life miserable for the regular hard-working Joes not looking for any problems.

In relationships, spouses that cheat on one another and the resulting breakups have heart-wrenching effects on families.

But perhaps, what is even worse than individual people that can hurt us are when the very institutions that are the bedrock of our society become corrupt and abusive of their authority and result in our loss of trust in them.

Already in 2010, trust in government was reaching new lows of 19%.

By 2014, trust in corporate America had eroded to just 36%.

Similarly, in 2016, trust in the news media fell to all time lows of 32%.

Reading about the clutching unto power of Fidel Castro’s dictatorship for half a century in Cuba did not seem that far a stretch after seeing the powerful and dangerous political machine here in our own U.S.A. working to keep people in the seat of power almost at any cost to the country and the people.

What was good for people was clearly last place to what was good for the ruling elites not just in Cuba anymore!

Similarly, the notion of a fair and balanced media went out the window with this last election, where investigative journalism became an oxymoronic term and idea.

As for corporate America, outsourcing, shoddy goods, inflated advertising, short-term profiteering, rigged governance, and oversized pay packages to the C-suite left a handful of socially-conscious corporations stranded on a desert island of greed and raw capitalism.

Neither children nor adults are victims or sheep to be bullied or manipulated by abusers and manipulators in society.

A free press so needed to keep corruption in check in the rest of public and private sector society has itself been infected by the bug of bias, bigotry, and personal agendas.

Who can we trust when evil can overtake good temporarily to break bodies and souls of it’s victims?

Ultimately, the people have the final say in keeping the wrongs in society from taking deep root and not letting nasty “big brothers” do the really bad things and take us down the wrong paths.

There are good people with integrity that we can trust, maybe just not everyone we’d like to. 😉

Politicized Justice

fullsizerender

DC is in partisanship chaos once again, but this time it’s our very justice system at the heart of it.

There is widely publicized internal fighting at the FBI and Department of Justice over whether and how far to investigate, let alone ever prosecute, emails and foundation issues from a presidential candidate.

As the FBI can only investigate, they have no jurisdiction over whether prosecutors are willing to then take the case forward.

Downtown today, there were signs that said:

“I Need Some Good News.com”

This was referencing the new soundtrack of “Good News” by Ocean Park Standoff, but it could easily summarize the standoff between the FBI and Justice Department and the political parties lining up behind them.

So there is certainly the need for some good news, as a dour mood settles over the capital and the people around the nation watching this play out so awfully, where politics have gotten in between us and our candidates and doing what’s right.

From the song:

“I need some good news baby ’cause the world’s gone crazy.”

When even our law enforcement authorities can no longer function without impediment, and when there is no core impunity from political infringement and recriminations, we know even our most basic system of justice has gone awry with political dysfunction.

Yes, it’s crazy and it’s definitely not good news for the progress and righteousness of this great nation. 😉

To BE Corruption FREE

corruption

Amazing, they were advertising this in downtown Washington, D.C.:

“A Government Free of Corruption”

Wouldn’t this just be completely miraculous!

WE HAVE A DREAM:

– No lies and spin

– No deception and manipulation

– No public and private faces

– No collusion and cheating

– No hidden agendas and backroom dealings

– No hate, bias, and divisiveness

– No denigrating, name-calling, and character assassination

– No bribery and pay to play

– No intimidation, payback, and shadow government

– No self entitlement and self enrichment

– No fraud, waste, and abuse

Imagine instead, if integrity was the essence of good leadership.

Today, in synagogue, the weekly Torah portion was Genesis–where as we all know, G-d created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:2 “Now the earth was chaos and void” (in Hebrew “tohu va-bohu”).

The bar-mitzvah boy, in his speech, joked about how his first 13-years of life growing up was very much tohu va-bohu (chaos), but he was hopeful that with his wonderful parents guiding him, he would get on track and pay more attention to his schoolwork, all the details, and not rush through things.

I thought to myself, there are probably a lot of people even in their 30s, 40, and 50’s whose life was still tohu va-bohu, but that doesn’t mean we can’t emulate G-d and still create something wonderful from all the chaos, right?

Similarly in the tohu va-bohu chaos of Washington politics, where nearly 80% of the electorate believe that we are going in the wrong direction, it’s not too late to continue make something great that we can all be proud of.

In the Wall Street Journal today, Peggy Noonan described a recent focus group led by Democratic pollster, Peter Hart, where all 12 voters (Democrats, Republicans, and Independents) unanimously and sadly agreed that “America was off track.”

In fact, one person wisely intimated that things seemed to go off track with 9/11 and “never quite recovered.”  Unfortunately, more than the World Trade Center came down in America that fateful day.

But it’s not the first time in history that things have been tohu va-bohu, and perhaps it’s okay…that why G-d teaches us things can change for the better…order and sense and progress can be made to rise from all the chaos.

The good news is still out there, “And G-d said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” 😉

One Mean Election

trump

Three cheers for one of the worst elections ever.

American politics sinking to new lows.

This poster yesterday plastered all over Washington D.C.

“Bully Culprit”

Denigrating, bashing, hurting, and humiliating other people whether we like them or not is wrong.

– What happened to agreeing to disagree?

– What happened to being civil and mannered?

– What happened to “when they go low, we go high”?

Power is such a motivator.

Greed, according to the Buddhists is one of the “three poisons,” along with ignorance and hate.

These lead to evil and suffering and prevent the attainment of enlightenment.

Desire and wanting something so much that you will do anything for it, thinking you deserve it, and being overconfident that you will get are a weakness of character and leadership.

Yesterday, Putin said about our election hysteria, “Is America some kind of banana republic?”

Is this really the type of darkness (and not light) to the world we want to show ourselves as.

We are continuing to go in the wrong direction and away from enlightenment and good–especially when there is so much work for us to still be done. 😉

Election Disillusionment

mars

So invariably you hear these days from those that dislike one or the other candidate running for President, that if he/she wins, they are moving out of this country.

That is apparently how strong people feel in terms of dislike for the candidates–in fact, the most disliked candidates in American history!

Well, I ran into this couple in the Metro.

They were from New Jersey and visiting Washington, D.C. with their daughter.

They were wearing matching t-shirts that said:

“Election 2016Time To Move To Mars”

Now moving from the USA is not far enough away for people to get from the horrible politics and/or politicians that they can’t seem to stand…so next stop is Mars!

As a big time proponents for colonization of other planets, I think this may actually be one of the best things to come out of this election cycle. 😉

Stealing The U.S. Election

Media POW.jpeg

So I’ve never seen anything quite like this before.

The liberal media is completely trying to destroy Trump, and this is a true crisis of democracy.

They are jumping on him like a gang of bandits, ruthlessly punching and kicking him into the pavement, while reveling in the ascendancy of their absolutely do no wrong Queen of the 2nd Impeached President of The United States of America.

The saying that all publicity is good publicity, has now been proved totally false!

Sure, does Trump have a big mouth and say stupid and offensive things, absolutely.

Is it possible that the guy is flawed, but really doesn’t mean it the way it comes out, as awful as it does?

Never-the-less, the power elite behind the Hillary machine have seized on these things to label him a fascist, racist, Nazi, demagogue, black soul, evil, and even today in the respected Wall Street Journal, a sociopath

(Hopefully the stupidity of the people saying these wild-a*s things is forgiven, so G-d forbid one day we shouldn’t have a candidate who really is like that!)

On Sunday, in the New York Times Review Section, it is not uncommon to find 3 articles on a single page dumping on Trump and almost the entire section dedicated to his downfall.

And of course, this treatment of one candidate, Trump, is not over-the-top at all, and completely fair and balanced thinking and coverage (sarcastic), as we wholly forgive Hillary for (alleged) lying, collusion, corruption, foundation money laundering voter rigging, and year after year of failed global policies (anyone out there been following that 80% of the people are dissatisfied with the direction of this magnificient nation).

Add to that the murder-suicides of dozens of people associated with the Clinton’s from Vince Foster in the Whitewater scandal to the killing of DNC staffer, Seth Rich, out of the blue just last month in DC.

Now let me say right out that I am the first one to condemn Trump’s outrageous and off-the-cuff statements about a disabled reporter, a POW Senator, and the the Muslim parents of a fallen soldier–yes, these are truly despicable and stupid things.

But yet, when I watch the tapes and hear the guy speak, I think that very possibly he is just a huge, nutty-type of eccentric, like these very rich people, under the covers, tend to be.

I think his mouth gets away from his brain, and yes while this is obviously not a good thing for an ostentatious Presidential candidate, why has the opposition been so successful at completely demonizing the guy (and don’t just say that he did it to himself) and giving a bright shiny nickle to the other candidate?

Is saying stupid things (even very stupid and grossly offensive things) really the equivalent of being a Nazi and sociopath–and is he truly worse than someone involved in lying, collusion, corruption, and global leadership failures that literally can threaten our nation’s security and take us down a path of true global disorder (how’s that relationship with the powerful Russians, Chinese, Iranians, and North Korea as well as the state of unabated worldwide terrorism doing these days)?

The left, including many prominent media outlets, have jumped on the band-wagon to label the opposition and they have been unrelenting and ruthless at destroying only one of the candidates, Trump, while they continue to give Hillary more or less of a free pass–does anyone wonder about this?

Rather than a fascist candidate, maybe what we really have is an an outrageous attempt at a fascist election system!

I wonder whether the people supporting this ones-sided narrative and single party election will come to regret their boundless political wisdom, hard and fast professional assessments, and vicious character assassinations, once we are well into the next term of President.

What will the pundits and media say when the economic bubble tears, when major terrorism strikes big and bad, when global upheaval dangerously spreads, and all we get is more spin, deception, inaction, and leadership from behind–are you so sure that is better than a candidate with a big mouth, but also who can build big skyscrapers and skylines over a new horizon for this country?

Will the pundits, media echo chamber, and the elites absolutely forcing Hillary to the top have a reckoning of thinking and conscience, with their air of puffery knocked out of them–will they have the presence of mind to question for a moment their choice of a candidate with a life-filled of scandal over a big-mouth, clumsy New York billionaire builder.

Finally, when one thinks of insane and evil, aren’t the activities that Hillary is accused of exactly those.

Perhaps this is truly the crooked pot calling the big mouth kettle black, and the biggest election coup and voter fraud taking place right under your mightily socially engineered noses.

{{{Democracy BERNS}}}

Fire Extinguishers

There is a fire that even these many fire extinguishers cannot put out, because it is our very democracy that is under attack and aflame.

If secrecy, lies, perjury, corruption, and end-runs around the law weren’t enough…now, we have the ultimate in democratic corruption.

Hacked emails from the Democratic Party show election rigging, collusion, and corruption at the highest levels

Emails document how DNC party officials questioned about:

“Whether they should raise doubts about the Sanders campaign.”

One senior official says:

“Wonder if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never had his act together, that his campaign is a mess.”

Another official stated:

“Does he believe in a G-d. He had skated as saying that he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps [people].”

Even Sanders’ campaign manager said that the emails showed that party officials were:

“Planting negative stories about him with religious leaders in various states [to rig the election towards the former First Lady].”

This is a clear case of conspiracy–and I do not use this word lightly–where the election was being steered by a corruption-infected system towards a certain candidate denying the actual will of the people and their rightful candidate choice.

Ah, so much for a fair and just democracy.

The Democratic National Convention starts on Monday, and it looks like they will be celebrating their corruption not only in terms of a system rigged with superdelegates, but where collusion and political narrative thrive and the political opposition, Bernie Sanders, never even had any chance, let alone a fair and democratic one.

Where is the accountability of these officials–are they too above the law as is their candidate.

No candidate for election should have a tacit nod of consent and support from officials and definitely should not be put in place when not in line with the will of the people!

We do not live in a dictatorship, in totalitarianism, in fascism–or perhaps, we most sadly do.

It is incredible hypocrisy that we send election monitors around the globe to police and ensure fair elections, but here at home, we can’t seem to effectively police our own system for fairness.

The election for president in the exemplary democracy of the world, the U.S.A, should not have the powerful, the elites, the 1%, control who is elected to office.

The situation has gone from bad to worse with serious allegations of:

– Vanishing global moral “red lines”

– Shady deals with our sworn “Death To America” enemies

– Laughter at murderous terrorist attacks

– Shutting of the eyes at the killing of police officers

– Money-laundering from private foundations

– Private servers exposing state secrets

– Election rigging

These are a treachery and a desertion of our very democracy, and unfortunately the fire of corruption is still burning in our beloved America while the convention just begins. 😉
