You Can Overcome It!

I like this runner’s shirt a lot.

It says:

Courage is endurance for one moment more.

Just when you feel that you cannot go on for another moment.

Just when you are at your very limit.

Just when you’ve reached your total breaking point.

Then…

You take that deep breath and focus your mind intently.

You disassociate yourself from the pain and struggle.

You see the challenge in front of you for what it really is and you raise yourself above and beyond it.

Your inner spirit is so much greater than its power over you.

You have the inner faith and can endure whatever it is.

You can overcome it! 😉

Story About Dressing Modestly

One of my good friends told me a funny story.

The friend of his daughter was wearing one of those cropped shirts which expose the belly.

She said that her dad told her to throw a party for her clothes, so that her shirt could meet her shorts.

I guess all dads worry about the modesty of their daughters.

This was a good tznius story that hammers home the point and is also pretty funny. 😉

Positively Jewish New Years

Coming into the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) tonight.

Lets everyone stay positive folks–we all have so much to be grateful for and please G-d to look forward to!

Positive is greater than negative (as the shirt says). LOL

Sometimes You Just Want To Say…

It funny, sometimes you just want to say…

Exactly what this ladies shirt says.

My father used to say when certain people were nasty to him, he would just be nice to them.

And when they would still be really nasty to him then imperceptibly, quietly under his breath, he would say “F*** You.”

Ah, maybe not always so imperceptibly. LOL

Sure, we can’t always just come out and say it like this lady does boldly on her shirt.

Maybe it doesn’t help to use expletives, but sometimes some people can be such jerks that just saying it quietly is cathartic and truth-telling.

Perhaps more important, saying it let’s you know that you still have  a moral compass and personal integrity, even if others around you have seriously compromised on theirs. :-)

Best Diplomacy Shirt

respect-fear-jpeg

I took this photo in the Metro, so I apologize for the poor lighting.

But never-the-less, to me, this wins for best diplomacy shirt.

“Respect All

Fear None”

In dealing with others at home and abroad, we must respect everyone.

And this is not just paying lip service to others while really giving a tacit nod to derision and divisiveness.

Rather we need to have genuine respect for all people, cultures, religions, freedom and human rights.

At the same time, we must fear no one.

We need to carry a big stick, as my grandfather used to say.

That along with plenty of carrots (but used strategically and not wastefully) to positively influence the good in others.

The point is that disengagement, appeasement, and weakness benefits no one.

Rather, it encourages violence, destruction, and refugees, and global disorder.

It’s time to stop fearing and running, and to make a firm stand for good and meaningful things that we really believe in.

We are not the police of the world, but we are smart, and good, and powerful, and will project and use that power wisely to ensure that good prevails over evil, always. 😉

Hey, Lady On The Shirt

Lady On Shirt
This was just a really cool shirt that I saw.

It’s has an image of a lady standing out front with what looks like a volcano in the background.

The volcano is shooting up its hothead steam, and looks like it’s blowing the cloud on the left sideways, off-kilter.

What’s nice about the lady on the shirt is that it’s not just drawn on, but has materials sewn in to make it 3-D.

The black and pink fabric for the dress, the green and red beads for the shirt, the pink and silver over the black patches for the sunglasses, and the yellow for the hat.

Also, like the way she’s standing all confident wth her hands on her hips and her elbows out–like “Hey, that volcano is nothing (compared to me)!”

The shirt is so simple, yet very smart.

That’s the way most things should be. 😉

Exclamation, No Point

Exclamation
Thought this guy had a really interesting shirt…

Just an exclamation mark (nothing else)!

But what’s the point of the exclamation mark?

An exclamation mark denotes emphasis–but on what is the emphasis here–is it just on him as a person?

I like the shirt…it says I feel strongly…I am human, and things have meaning to me.

I guess if you want to know the details about what he feels strongly about, you’d have to get to know him better or ask.

Maybe that’s the point, the exclamation is that I am worth getting to know…my life has emphasis and meaning…just check me out. 😉
