Beautiful Hiking @Harpers Ferry

Hiking the Appalachian Trail, oh so glorious.

The only photo not shown is the large snake we ran into on the rocks on the side of the path.

My wife screamed:

“S-n-a-k-e!”

And we were running for the hills in this direction and that.

We had no idea where she was pointing to.

It was pretty hilarious.

Every Time I Go Mexico

Beautiful guitar band @Lake Needwood today.

First, we went for a nice kayak boat ride around the lake.

Then I couldn’t help stopping and listening to this relaxing and peaceful music.

These guys were great–I’d pay to listen to them.

Just a bunch of friends getting together to play beautiful music.

This is life as it should be. 😉

Shabbat Risk

I haven’t played Risk in years.

But my daughter and her husband came for Shabbat, and we sat down and had a great game.

We distributed the countries.

Placed our enemies.

And went to battle, army to army.

By the time it was over, my daughter had conquered Europe, Africa, and North and South Americas.

It was so good to see her taking country after country from my son-in-law and me.

My son-in-law joked that he had underestimated her.

We had a good laugh and nice time just sitting down at the kitchen table and playing a board game.

Afterward, we went down to the pool and relaxed in the deck chairs and then my wife and I took off our shoes and walked in the grass in the garden.

I laid down on the beautiful green lawn and looked up watching some planes jet over in the clear blue sky.

It was absolutely beautiful weather and a marvelous day today with my family.

In the morning we went to Synagogue and the sit-down kiddush with our friends.

I am grateful to G-d for all this and for the peace of the wonderful Shabbat!

Also, what more can a man ask for Father’s Day. 😉

The Nicest Blossoms Ever

So I almost never do this.

Posting about the same thing twice in a short period.

But this is an exception.

The Cherry Blossoms this year are the nicest I have ever seen them.

Hopefully, this is a sign of blessings from G-d.

The world is blossoming and hopefully so is our fortune.

May G-d have mercy on the good people. 😉

Makes My Heart Sing

Just thought this was really beautiful.

The yellow butterflies with the background of the blue from the sky and ocean, and the white of the soft clouds.

Feeling like this makes my heart sing.

Sort of like love.

It’s simple, but so clear.

We’re free and flying alone, but together.

We’re one with the universe and also with each other.

Butterfly, butterfly into the wild blue yonders.

No worries, just soaring, at peace, happy, and oh so free. 😉

5-Minute Intervals

This was sunrise at 5-minute intervals.

All I can think is how glorious G-d is and how marvelous his creation.

– The light of the L-rd chases the darkness away.

– The might of the L-rd brings forth a new day.

– The right hand of the L-rd shows us all the correct way.

How are your works so majestic indeed.

All we can do is gaze with eyes wide.

Truly the perfection of the L-rd is shown in his creation.

We are blessed to see and experience it.

Every day is a miracle that we have in this world.

Even with pain and sorrow, our soul clings to this life.

Until such time that our Maker calls us home to Him once more.

Then we gasp our last breath and enter his Heavenly abode.

For this world is just a corridor to the true world that is to come.

And so just imagine what that must be like to be even closer to G-d and his endless loving majesty. 😉

Solar Eclipse 2017

Eclipse.jpeg

In honor of the solar eclipse tomorrow, the local grocery store was selling these cool celebratory pies!

Everyone is excited about this eclipse that is cutting a path across the U.S.

The last one that did this was almost 100 years ago in 1918.

It’s a magnificent thing to see two amazing and large celestial spheres like this literally cross paths.

“Hi sun.”
“Hello moon.”
“Nice to meet you!”

We are so small in the realm of these universal things…it’s almost funny how big we think we are.

Yet, we have so much ambition and desire to be bigger–to solve problems, innovate, and delve into the depths of the sea and to the far reaches of heavens.

You can blot out the sun, but we’ll still figure out all the details on precisely when, where, and which goo goo goggles to wear so we don’t hurt our eyes. 😉
