Managing for Humpty Dumpty Risk

Humpty Dumpty.jpeg

So this was interesting…

I was in a meeting and someone was discussing the risks involved in a project.

And they mentioned the Humpty Dumpty Effect.

A bunch of people looked at them like what’s that.

Then they explained that it’s the risk of breaking something during the project.

Sort of like the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take to, “first, do no harm.”

When we are planning, designing, building or implementing a project–be it information technology or something else–we don’t want to break something in the process.

That’s the Humpty Dumpty Risk to beware of and it’s an egg-celent point! 😉

Ketchup Face

Ketchup Face 2
We went to the Pizza place after Shabbat.

The family had a little fun with the ketchup.

I come from a creative bunch…whether with pastels, photography, Photoshop, writing, and even Ketchup.

Don’t worry it didn’t go to waste, the fries were right on the way! 🙂

Even The Buildings Smile

Even The Buildings Smile

Soon we will end the weekend and move into the next workweek.

As a kid, I remember people calling it “Blue Monday”–presumably because of the feelings people had going back to work.

I know some people that don’t even like to go out on Sunday evening at all, because of the anxiety they feel about the upcoming week.

But I thought this was a great photo that my daughter took to express the weekend joy and good feelings and the importance of carrying these forward throughout the whole week.

Someone actually drew this smiley face on the side of the building!

When my other daughter, Minna, asked my mom in the nursing home today for some words of wisdom, she reminded us all that “the years go by all too quickly!”

In her words, I understood that the main thing is to find meaning and purpose, give more than you take, and remember to count your blessings every day. 😉

Who’s That?

Who's That?

So we went to Five Below today where everything sells for–that’s right–less than $5.

They had these cool Frisbees with faces on them and I thought this would make a sort of funny photo.

So we posed underneath the “hot stuff, cool prices” signs.

Anyway, it’s fun to let loose and just have some good-natured fun. 😉

Hope you enjoy!

Mural of Brotherhood

Mural_kids

Really love this mural of kids and adults holding together in joy and brotherhood, the big sun with the smiley face, and the butterflies.

This was posted up next to a local school near their track, field, and basketball courts.

When all the world is topsy-turvy with riots and fighting, WMD and threats of annihilation, and all sorts of financial doomsday scenarios–it is uplifting to see this simple and pure painting spreading happiness.

Let’s create a world for our children and grandchildren with more joy, positivity, and stability, and less stress, fear, and uncertainty.

An Approach To Teamwork That Isn’t Hot Air

Dancing_balloon

The team took a couple of minutes of downtime to rejuvenate.

Ever creative, they drew a smiley face on some celebratory balloons.

Up over the air conditioner, and the balloons danced literally all day long.

One person is waving their arms to show no strings or anything holding it up.

For a terrific team that works really hard, it was nice to see them laugh it off a little.

Cost what–2 cents? And it made everyone happy!  🙂
