My Fun Socks

Just wanted to share some of my new fun socks.

You don’t always have to take yourself so serious.

It’s okay to let go and just be you.

From Dragon Ball Z to Super Mario, I feel so empowered!

Hope you do too.  😉

Happy Sock Faces

I just thought these socks with faces were really cute.

I was tempted to even buy some.

But the faces were on the feet.

So you couldn’t see them around the ankle when you wear them.

If you wear the socks without shoes then you can see the cartoon faces.

However, then you also wear out these fun socks

I’m in for fun socks.

Just have to get the faces in the right places. 😉

My New Sneaks

These were my new sneaks for like two hours.

I loved them in the store.

My stylish and lovely daughter helped me pick them out.

Nike bright orange–cool, fashionable.

“Just do it!”

But when I tried them on, I didn’t have socks, and had to use the ridiculous thin ones in the store.

The sneakers were snug and I asked for a larger size, which they were out of.

I took the sneakers anyway, hoping they would be okay when I got home, but disappointingly, they were way too tight.

And “the give” that the saleslady said would happen with the sneakers, absolutely didn’t.

My foot was being crushed in there.

I think Nike’s run small.

Like the look, but not the sizing.

Anyway, saw three people playing soccer in these (or something close to it) the same day.

Orange is the new black. 😉

Dumb Socks

So have you ever gone to the shoe store, but you forgot to wear socks.

Well, this is what you get to try-on shoes.

These absolutely crappy, thin, brownish wades of disposable nylon socks.

How completely unappealing–especially piled up like this and looking like they are getting reused again and again.

The try-on socks look shitty, feel shitty, and don’t help you try-on anything, because they aren’t the same density or texture as regular socks.

Talk about penny wise and dollar foolish–if the store won’t even invest in a proper pair of socks for their customers, then how much do they value their business?

How about an intelligent shoe store with a little class that actually has some real pairs of socks for their customers, and when you’re done they send them out to the cleaners or maybe even let you keep the pair if you buy the shoes!  😉

Wardrobe Malfunction Or Stylish

Wardrobe Malfunction.jpeg

So I got to personally witness a spectacular wardrobe malfunction today.

It’s not often in Washington, D.C. that we get to see someone in a bright blue suit jacket with flowers.

Obviously, this is a pretty conservative dress town.

Some might call it rather style boring or even nerdy.

However, this brave guy went out on a limb and stood out like a sore DC thumbnail.

Actually, I believe it’s nice to add some color, flair, and style and light up the room and the faces.

Too much gloominess and depression here at times.

I was so excited when someone actually called me “Happy Tie!”

Then everyone took a turn showing off their colorful socks to each other.

It takes so little to turn a room of people joyful and laughing.

Honestly, we need more of this, and why not be a contributor to people’s happiness and smiling?

Superman Leadership

Superman Socks.jpeg

This guy’s socks were very cool.

If you can say that socks make the man then perhaps this is it.

Superman that is!

No special shirt, underwear, or cape required–the socks communicate it all.

For the man of steel or one in the making (if worn at workout time).

Then again, I was trying to imagine someone actually having the guts or nuttiness to wear these to the office.

If they would, it probably be with the following in mind:

I can do anything helpful to get the job done–

1) Rolling out cutting-edge systems and business process improvements faster than a speeding bullet

2) Creating positive change more powerful than a locomotive

3) Able to leap with integrity over organizational obstacles, red tape, and naysayers in a single bound

It’s a change consultant. It’s a corner office bureaucrat.  It’s a “superleader!”

Up up and away…it can be done (even without the socks). 😉

Toe Shoes – Little Piggy

Toe Shoes
I tool this photo on the Metro this morning.

This person is wearing these huge toe shoes and mismatched socks.

Have you ever tried on toe shoes?

It’s not like putting on a pair of gloves.

Try lining up and getting each of your toes into these snug shoes.

More trouble than it’s worth in terms of looking interesting, different.

Which toe should we start with: “This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed home…”

Maybe the only reason to wear these is if you actually want someone to step on your toes–now it’s all too toe transparent. 😉

Superhero Socks

POW Socks
Thought these socks were pretty cool.

POW!

WHAM!

ZAAP!

KAPOW!

SPLAT!

We are living in an age with potential for great upheaval whether from terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, bigotry and social inequality, national debts and unpaid social entitlements, poverty and pandemics, global warming and environmentally unsustainable practices, and the clash of Western and Eastern civilizations.

Thank G-d for advances in technology and innovation to help address these huge challenges of our time.

However, whoever is portraying everything as all rosy or telling you to just be optimistic and all will be well–they’re feeding you a bunch of you know what!

We need a superhero/Messiah leader to come help us save the day and these socks would be perfect for their arrival. 😉
