Great Veggie Heaven

Great little Chinese vegetarian/vegan restaurant in New Jersey.

My sister took us there a couple of years ago.

Hopefully, I didn’t forget to say thank you.

Never forgot the yummy food there (and of course, the good family company).

Good descriptive name and eats at Veggie Heaven!  😉

Happy Hanukah Trader Joe’s Style

Trader Joe’s has the best food shopping experience, hands down.

They also have the best edible and good tasting fresh, healthy food.

On top of it, they have a nice gift card for a Happy Hanukah!

I vote that we replace all the other crummy supermarkets with Trader Joes instead. 😉

Salad and Falafel

Continuing the healthy eating trend.

This was delicious salad and falafel with tzatziki sauce and Italian dressing.

It was so fresh and good.

Honestly, I wanted to eat more of this.

Who needs all the junk foods.

This looks good, tastes good, and is good for you!  😉

Cheesecake Heaven

So I never met a piece of cheesecake that I didn’t like.

This was an awesome display of the varieties of it at the Cheesecake Factory.

I remember my mom used to make a pretty darn great cheesecake (and a lot of other good food)!

I still can see the graham cracker crust with the sweet hot creamy cheese filling coming out of the oven.

Unfortunately one of the conundrum of life is that all the good tasting things are so darn fattening and bad for us.

I think though if they can make fake burgers like Beyond that taste like the real thing, then surely at some point they will figure out how to make a skinny cheesecake that tastes good.

There are still some mysteries left in this universe for us to unravel. 😉

Beyond Burger Good!

So my terrific, son-in-law Itzchak surprised us with some delicious Beyond Burgers before Shabbat.

They are meatless burgers, and supposed to be pretty healthy, but they taste good too.

Let’s just say these were very delicious and we gobbled them down.

Cheesy with tomato, onion, bun, and all.

As my father would say, “It tastes like more!” 😉

Pu Pu Platter @David Chu’s

Celebrated Mother’s Day today @David Chu’s in Baltimore.

In addition to my favorite, Sesame Chicken, Dossy ordered the Pu Pu Platter.

2 BBQ Ribs

2 Teriyaki Beef

2 Spring Rolls

2 Frieds Won Tons

2 Chicken Toast

(Thankfully, there was no poo in the pu pu!)

All this Kosher Chinese food, had me craving a Coca Cola afterwards like it always does.

Then we stopped at Market Maven, which replaced Seasons that went bankrupted last year.

Overall, a nice family day that I am so grateful for to Hashem!  😉

This Is What You Smell

Great sign at the nut stand at Sugarloaf Festival.

“This Is What You Smell!”

Hot cinnamon pecans or almonds.

Wow, did that smell nice.

I got a tiny bag of the pecans, and when I opened it, the smell and taste that hot cinnamon really took over.

Were there other smells present as well?

Probably, but I chose to focus on the cinnamon nuts.

The other smells will have to wait for their special sign and appropriate attention to deal with it. 😉

A New Type Of Chocolate Chips

chips

Ok, dieting is hard enough with all highly processed food out there these days.

And everything is carbs, carbs, and more carbs…it’s literally poison for the body.

But when you go into the store and see Lays chocolate covered potato chips…this just brings you to the verge of sin.

The top are milk chocolate covered potato chips, and the bottom ones are dark chocolate covered ones.

Choose your poison?

This is definitely a new type of chocolate chips…Hershey’s eat you heart out.

I told my wife pleadingly, “Can’t I just taste one?” 😉

Oh Those Crispy Wontons

Wonton

These were some good-looking crispy wonton chips at the Kosher Chinese.

But I was good, and didn’t have a single one!

Dossy was lucky and could have some and she put soy sauce on hers.

It was tempting, but I held strong.

Carbohydrates = Poison.

Carbohydrates = Poison.

Carbohydrates = Poison.

I tell myself over and over.

Do NOT touch.

Do NOT eat.

Do NOT even go near them.

Not so bad…mind over matter.

If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.

Willpower, plain and simple.

Would be easier perhaps with some different “food” genetics.

But grateful for every blessing G-d has bestowed. 😉

Wicked Good Waffles

Waffle.jpeg

Just wanted to share this yummy waffle from the Wicked Waffle in Bethesda, Maryland.

This waffle was steaming hot and had sugared flour and chocolate drizzle and had less than 200 calories!

The Wicked Waffle has all sorts of waffle sandwiches…made fresh right there in front of you.

Grilled cheese, egg and cheese, tuna melt, tomato with mozzarella and arugula, waffle french toast, also meat waffle sandwiches (but those not kosher).

The only food that can take on waffles is pancakes, but these wicked waffles will give any pancake a very big run for the money. 😉
