Columbus Day Apple Picking @Larriland Farms, MD

Thank you G-d for the beautiful day today.

We got to celebrate Columbus Day and the discovery of this great nation with a day off.

H-o-l-i-da-y!

We spent some time apple picking at Larriland Farms in Maryland.

They also had a Broccoli picking and a gorgeous field of sunflowers.

It was a little warm today (up to 90 degrees), but it was nice to be outside and together.

I am so grateful for every moment and for the delicious apples we brought home. 😉

Beautiful Hiking @Harpers Ferry

Hiking the Appalachian Trail, oh so glorious.

The only photo not shown is the large snake we ran into on the rocks on the side of the path.

My wife screamed:

“S-n-a-k-e!”

And we were running for the hills in this direction and that.

We had no idea where she was pointing to.

It was pretty hilarious.

Rain From Heaven

Took this photo yesterday in the courtyard during a thunderstorm.

It is the first time that I was actually able to see the rain almost in a slow motion.

They weren’t drops, but literally streaks of water zipping down from the sky.

The feeling was so pure and refreshing to clean the air and the ground.

To replenish our reservoirs, ponds, lakes, rivers, and oceans.

To nourish the fruit of the Earth and make it grow.

We use up and make dirty, but G-d replenishes and makes clean! 😉

Every Time I Go Mexico

Beautiful guitar band @Lake Needwood today.

First, we went for a nice kayak boat ride around the lake.

Then I couldn’t help stopping and listening to this relaxing and peaceful music.

These guys were great–I’d pay to listen to them.

Just a bunch of friends getting together to play beautiful music.

This is life as it should be. 😉

Square Trees

So I never saw square trees until I visited Palm Beach, Florida.

What’s the saying:

“It’s hip to be square!”

I definitely had to take a doubletake when I saw these.

Wherever we were going, I was gonna stop and get a photo of this.

These trees are almost as if they are from another planet.

What planet would have square trees?

Hope you enjoy it.

The Nicest Blossoms Ever

So I almost never do this.

Posting about the same thing twice in a short period.

But this is an exception.

The Cherry Blossoms this year are the nicest I have ever seen them.

Hopefully, this is a sign of blessings from G-d.

The world is blossoming and hopefully so is our fortune.

May G-d have mercy on the good people. 😉

I Love Cherry Blossoms

Just wanted to take today to express my undying love for Cherry Blossoms.

How unbelievably magnificent they are.

Pink pedals blossoming and beautiful.

G-d’s creations in nature that make us in awe of his majesty.

It is almost too gorgeous to be real.

To look up at these is more beautiful than I can possibly have words for.

Thank you G-d for giving these to us every Spring season.

It is truly something to look forward to each year and that which nourishes our souls with a complete array of sensory joy. 😉

Birthday Of Trees

Today is the holiday of Tu Bishvat.

That is the Birthday for (fruit) Trees!

It’s when Jewish people celebrate and plant trees around the world and especially in the Holy Land.

Last night, we celebrated with Chabad Israeli Center of Rockville where they had not only of the “7 Fruits” of Israel (wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates), but they also had some very nice wine and cheese, delicious bourekas, and pastries.

We learned about the biblical meaning of the “7 Species of Fruits” and the flourishing of the land of Israel, celebrated with music and song, and played a trivia game with our smartphones using a cool new gaming and learning application, called Kahoot

A special thank you to Chabad Rabbi Shlomo Beitsh and to Samy Ymar for sponsoring the event.

Overall, a beautiful evening to meet new people and celebrate a very happy birthday to the beautiful trees and mother nature that G-d has so benevolently bestowed on us. 😉
