It’s Fight or Surrender!

This is why President Reagan was able to “tear down that wall” and win the Cold War.

He was a true role model for leadership and what a President is.

– Faith in G-d.

– A strength of convictions.

– The Integrity that touches hearts.

– Courage to carry forward.

– Pride in our nation.

– Judicious use of our might.

Go USA! 😉

Teambuilding S-Cubed

Awesome day today with my team at work.

We had a half-day team building.

Started off with a Play-Doh exercise where we had to answer things like what we’d like to accomplish as a team in the new year.

This was my representation with a S-cubed for the new program implementing process improvements and enterprise service management using:

– Strategy

– Structure

– (Customer) Service

We followed up with a great team luncheon and then a game of Monster Mini Golf.

We broke into two teams and one team came in “first place” and the other team were the “winners.”

I suppose whenever we genuinely come together as a team to appreciate each other and work collaboratively as a unified whole–greater than the sum of our parts–then we truly all come out as first place winners! 😉

Inspiring Greatness

I thought this was inspirational.

Muhammad Ali believing that he’s the greatest boxer.

And the child sitting in front with these huge red boxing gloves on–presumably dreaming about becoming the next Muhammad Ali!

The butterfly sitting on the boxing gloves in front of the child adds an interesting dimension, where the child dreams of developing into the “next great one,” just like a butterfly morphs from a caterpillar into a beautiful flying creatures with colorful and expansive wings.

This child wants to fly and soar to greatness like Muhammad Ali did.

We all need an inspiration that has overcome adversity to make it against all odds.

For me, this inspiration was Rocky who rose from the streets to become a fighter and winner not only in the ring, but in life as a person of integrity and a mensch.

If we dream it, it can be–with G-d’s blessing and plenty of hard work. 😉

The Talent Function

Integrity
I really like this quote from Warren Buffet.

Three traits to look for in recruiting the best people:

  1. Intelligence
  2. Energy
  3. Integrity

But what good are the first two without the third one?

So Integrity first (or squared for emphasis)…then intelligence plus the energy to use it plentifully and you have yourself an organizational winner!

Related to this, I saw someone on the train today with a tee shirt (from Sweet Green…not sure why this is their slogan) that said:

Passion

   X

Purpose

This seemed like a good motto to me define the energy (#2) in Buffet’s top 3 items for recruiting.

With a clear intent plus the compelling feeling to achieve it, you got energy to apply.

The resulting function:

Talent = f {Intelligence, Energy (or Passion x Purpose), Integrity Squared}

Now that’s a recruiting formula we can all follow–thank you Mr. Buffet. 😉

Bathroom De/sign Winner

Bathroom_signage

This is a winner to me when it comes to smartest bathroom signage.

From graphic designer, Aliza Dzik.

I like that the signage identifies the wo/men bathrooms very cleverly and simply (and without any obscene graphics).

Intelligence + Simplicity = User-centric

Love it!
