Still Fighting For Our Rights

This picture about sums where we are in having to protest the same things we’ve been fighting for since the beginning of time:

I can not believe I still have to protest this crap!!

Just went you thought humanity (at least Western civilization) had mostly evolved past all the discrimination, biases, bigotry, prejudice, and racisms.

We arrive in time only to find out that HATE is still brewing in our societies and people’s evil hearts.

What a shame–that we misinterpret what divides us as taking precedence over what unites us!

What a pity–that we misjudge people by the color of their skin, their race, their religion, etc. instead of by the worthiness of their deeds.

What a disgrace–that we mistreat our fellow man simply because they are different from us and in the most superficial of ways.

With all our scientific advances and technological progress, we are still in stone ages of the evolution of our humanity.  😉

Life Equated With Hate

Does anyone get this sign from the Pro-Life rally last week?

Pro-Life is Pro-Hate

But equating Pro-Life with hate doesn’t add up.

It actually seems the opposite that if you want to sanctify and protect life that you are loving people, not hating.

Sometimes to make a point, people will just say anything.

It’s related to “gaslighting” where they want to manipulate you into questioning your own beliefs, values, and sanity.

Perhaps, throwing around terms like hate just dilutes the real meaning of it similar to making other false accusations against people.

We need to argue the issues, and not attack each other. 😉

Wig and Taped Mouth

Thought this was a pretty scary mannequin.

Aside from the disheveled hair covering her head and half her face.

You can see that her mouth and nose is taped over with clear masking tape!

Clearly she looks like she has been abused or worse, and the image is that she can’t even scream for help.

Why anyone would advertise women’s fashion in this misogynist way should be beyond all of us.

There are a lot of crazy nuts out there.

This photo is a small reminder of what we face in terms of ugliness in this world.

Interfaith Movie Today

This afternoon, we attended the interfaith movie screening of “The Judge.

The movie is about a Palestinian woman who becomes “the first woman judge in a Shari’a ‘family law’ court.”

Let’s just say it wasn’t easy for her to break into this male-dominated profession within institutionalized religion in the Middle East.

Thinking in an interfaith way, I guess it’s maybe not so dissimilar to women breaking into the profession of the Rabbinate.

Another similarity between the religions was that there were many Islamic religious leaders that were very conservative and dead set against women in the Shari’a courts, while others stood up against the tide and inspired change — I think we have similar disagreements in Judaism between the ultra-orthodox who want to stick with the “old” historical ways of doing things, and the more liberal Jews that seek the freedom to alter those ways.

During the movie, there were some interesting take-aways like under Shariah law, men are allowed up to 4 wives!

Another funny line in the movie was when one of the men said that the men never make trouble for the women (i.e. it’s all the women’s fault).

In the court cases filmed, there seemed to be a lot of cases of domestic violence and of divorce, and in one case in particular the wife was actually stabbed to death in the court house by her husband who she was trying to get a divorce from.

Overall, it felt good to attend the event and try to be a part of the healing process between people.

The event was sponsored by the Jewish-Islamic Dialogue Society (JIDS) of Washington, D.C.

The Photo Every Man Fears

This was quite an interesting picture to put in the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

That is one mighty large scissors that lady is holding.

Uh, she looks a little commando-ish with the jump suit, cap, and sunglasses.

Is she ready for war or for punishing some bad men?

I don’t believe there is a man out there that isn’t spooked by this lady.

My *** hurts just looking at this. 😉

Justice Under The Microscope

Please see my new article in The Times of Israel called, “We Are All Kavanaugh.”

Under the microscope of the media, political pundits, and the FBI, no one is guiltless.

When it comes to promoting and appointing people to the highest positions of our great nations, businesses, and organizations, we need to ensure the highest integrity.

At the same time, we need to weigh the good and the bad in people, and not hold them to a bar that no one can live up to.

This is a difficult time for the nation where we must always protect women’s rights and also protect people from being presumed guilty.

Let’s hope for Heaven’s guidance in ensuring a good decision for the Supreme court and the Justice System.

The Hunted Becomes Hunters

I was on the treadmill and on the TV was the movie Rambo First Blood with Sylvester Stallone–he’s incredible.

There is an amazing scene where he is running, outnumbered, outgunned, and being literally hunted in the woods.

But as he is a special forces trained warrior, he turns the tables on the bad guys.

– The hunted become the hunter!

Life is not Hollywood.

Yet, miracles do happen, and good can overcome evil.

Like the more than 150 brave women of the USA Olympics Gymnastics Team who testified and put the creep Larry Nassar away for the rest of his disgusting life.

The hunted can be empowered through the justice system and do what is right and put the bad guys away–where they should stay and rot out their miserable days.

The innocent women who suffered at his dirty hands prevail!  😉

Wonder Woman Vs. Hezbollah

Wonder Woman.jpeg

So get how hateful they are behaving in Lebanon…

They have actually banned the movie, Wonder Woman.

Hezbollah is afraid of Wonder Woman!

Gal Gadot, an awesome Israeli actress and model, who plays Wonder Woman is too much for them to handle.

Hezbollah, the terrorist organization in Lebanon–and the proxy for Axis of Evil Iran–has 150,000 missiles aimed at The State of Israel, but is threatened by a pop movie and superhero.

If the culture of democracy, freedom, human rights and peace-loving could overcome the radical Islamists and their terrorism then Wonder Women could become a beloved hero to them too rather than a threat to put in the dustbin along with women’s rights and freedom of religion and expression.

Wonder Woman block those bullets and missiles and teach those terrorist bad boys a lesson they’ll never forget. 😉

Fighting Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse.jpegNonviolence.jpeg

I came across these excellent graphics used to educate and prevent against domestic dominance and abuse.

The first wheel shows how “power and control” are used to instill fear and dominate domestic partners as well as in an overall pattern of relationships with physical and sexual violence:

– Intimidation

– Emotional Abuse

– Isolation

– Minimizing, Denying, and Blaming

– Using Children

– Male Privilege

– Economic Abuse

– Coercion and Threats

In contrast, the second wheel displays positive patterns of “equality” in relationships and nonviolence and are marked by the following attributes:

– Non-threatening behavior

– Respect

– Trust and Support

– Honesty and Accountability

– Responsible Parenting

– Shared Responsibility

– Economic Partnership

– Negotiation and Fairness

Have you ever noticed a pattern of domestic abuse behaviors that include the following?

– Constantly lecturing on political views the other person should hold.

– Keeping them away from their family and friends.

– Controlling the major life decisions.

– Hiding money and accounts.

– Demanding the partner stay home with the kids indefinitely.

– Using emotional withdrawal and/or passive aggressiveness to control.

– Requiring the other person to be available whenever they want.

Spouses and partners should be your best friend and not your servant or dog to kick when you get home.

Watch out for those who exhibit the bad behaviors and patterns of abuse and violence…and stay safe in good and healthy relationships! 😉
