Some street art just makes you stop and say wow!
This mural on the side of a building in Philadelphia is just amazing.
It takes a regular street (even next to an abandoned lot) and makes it eye-popping.
Some people seem to walk by and not even notice.
I’m not sure how. 😉

Wow, these Gucci sneakers were over the top!
Thick, thick soles and built up sides.
A strap adorning the sneaker with colored-stones (faux gems).
Very heavy with a durable kick-a*s feel.
All for $1,590 at Bloomingdale’s.
As we joke as kids with a eastern European “old country” droll, “It’s a bargain!” 😉

Really liked this sign on my colleague’s desk.
It says:
Start With Yes
I remember an old boss who used to say:
Don’t make me get through no to get to yes.
The idea as another colleague put it is to:
Keep a smile on your face and your focus on the customer; everything else takes care of itself.
Basically, it’s all our jobs to make sure that the customer’s needs are being met.
That doesn’t mean that we don’t need to differentiate between requirements and desirements or that we need to deliver the yacht in the first go around.
As a 4th colleague put it:
The customer is in the water. They want the yacht. But I can give them a boat. It gets them to where they want to go, and they no longer need to swim. We can work our way up to a yacht.
Good analogy analogy and good things to keep in mind for customer service excellence! 😉

So I have started watching VICE News and you should too.
It is on HBO and is superior to the other big news outlets in so many ways.
The intensity and clarity of their photography and videos is unbelievable!
My daughter said to me:
“This is clearer than REAL life!”
And she was right…I don’t know how they do it.
Also, they remove all the clutter from the news screen that CNN, MSNBC, and others use at the top and bottom of the screen–instead it’s just clean, focused, and right to the news point.
VICE puts the key messages in callouts right on the screen in large and easy to read boxes–the impact is you see the visual and the print message dramatically together and you get it and remember it!
They do this for their photos and videos.
Finally, with all the “talk is cheap” news these days, it is nice that VICE seems to focus more on reporting and less on subjective opinion.
With all the failing, fake, and alternative news out there, it is nice to see that someone has invented a better news program. 😉

Love this exhibit by Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, at the Hirshhorn Museum.
Unfortunately, they were out of passes for this special showing, so I could only grab a quick photo or two.
But I was amazed at how splashes of dots and color can make such am amazing impact on a room.
Futuristic and yet surreal.
Everything in the room–walls, floor, chairs, tables, fixtures, and ornaments–had the design elements on them.
The only thing that didn’t were the people checking it out and what a contrast that was.
It felt like being in the fantasy world of Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory or something amazing like that.
It is no surprise that people were lining up out the doors for tickets to this exhibit.
What an spectacular vision for the world–so happy, so magical and so wow beautiful! 😉
